The face on the dude in the launch screen on the mount looks terrible everything besides his face is perfect. It just naws on me every time i log in. And dry top is a stupid obstacle course that should be turned into something else. The rest of the jumping puzzles from what i hear are fun.
So not really problems, just a couple things you personally don’t like and gave your opinion on. Nothing wrong with that, but I’m sure those things you find problems, others may actually like.
I don’t have any issue with the art on the launcher personally. I have always loved the Guild Wars games art style. The art style and music is one of the things that hooked me when I first played the original Guild Wars many years ago. I have played many, many mmo’s over the years and the GW’s games are the ones I find myself taking tons of screenshots of.
I haven’t done the jumping puzzle you are referring to, but I thought jumping puzzles were meant to be difficult and kind of like an obstacle course? Again, another thing I personally enjoy about the game. I honestly love this game how it is. As I said, I have played many mmo’s, most out there actually, and this game is different and unique. I really, really hope ArenaNet never, ever follows suit of some other mmo’s out there by dumbing the game down, streamlining way too much and feeling the need to reinvent the wheel all the time. This is an amazing game in my opinion. By far one of the best on the market for me. I get that as games age new things need to be added and some changes made. But I would much prefer to see a company continue to build on an amazing product instead of reinventing it all the time. A number of mmo’s over the last few years have been ruined for me because of this.
I have saw posts on these forums lately people complaining wanting flying mounts, wanting things to be gained much easier, etc. Please don’t cave to all this guys. You made an amazing game and I don’t want to see it ruined too I saw a thread yesterday with people complaining about the weapon skins that those of us got for our 5 year birthday yesterday. I got mine yesterday. There isn’t anything wrong with some things in a game being exclusive. Keep your character for 5 years and you will get it also. Not everything in a game should be easily obtained.
Hmm, for whatever reason the ability for me to quote a user isn’t showing up in this thread.
@NsKush: That ability that you mention about showing who invited a member and the time is in game. If you look at the guild log, click on “roster” you will see who invited someone into the guild. You will also see the time. Not the actual time like 12:00 pm for example, but you will see that a member was invited say 30 minutes ago, 6 hours ago, 1 week ago, etc. So that ability is there.
You bring up some really good points and the biggest one for me is the first one you brought up. I am the officer of a medium sized guild that is growing at a pretty fast rate. Not having the ability to see the last time someone is online is making it next to impossible to keep track of our inactive members. Our guild has a rule that after someone hasn’t been online in a set amount of time, they will be removed. We personally don’t want a guild full of inactive members.
We have come up with other methods to try to help us keep track of our members and it has been a bit of a challenge at times. I keep track of our guild log and keep a close eye on recruits. I am pretty much keeping my own log of recruits and when they should be promoted. So there is the ability to see who invited who and when so this helps me a lot in this aspect.
As far as inactives, until ArenaNet adds the ability to see the last time someone is online, there is nothing we can do except wait for this feature to be added unfortunately.
I am personally loving this game so far and have basically no complaints other than the guild interface needing some much needed improvements and features added to help GM’s and officers properly run a guild. This is something I am guessing unless you are a GM or officer, you may not even notice initially. But as it is at this point, keeping track of our members is a bit of a challenge.
Lol Asha, we must be on the same wave length at times. I had just came here to post this exact thing. You beat me to it. :P
Anyways, I second this whole heartedly. I am an officer of Asha’s guild and it makes it pretty difficult for us to monitor and keep track of our members. We aren’t one of the big 500 member guilds. We are a medium sized guild as Asha said, but are growing rapidly.
We are about quality with our guild and not a guild about just numbers. We don’t want to have a guild full of inactive members just sitting around. We really need a way to see the last time a member is online. This would be such a big help.
The other big thing for me that Asha also pointed out is the ability to have a “Notes” column. This as well would be such a big help to GM’s and officer’s to have the ability to write a note regarding a member, “On vacation”, etc. I would actually kind of like to see this in the form of you can click or right-click on a members name, and a window pops up with the ability to write officer’s notes for that particular member. This would be a major help imo.
Same as Asha, all in all I am extremely pleased with the game and have very few complaints. The only issues I am having and would like to see improved upon are the things Asha brought up regarding the guild interface.
Without some of these things in game, it is making it hard to manage our guild and members the way we would like to.
