Hey so I play an elementalist in game as my major character and I was looking a little at possible build options. One thing I decided to try and do was build a chill based elementalist. I don’t know how much this would take effect for pve but I was thinking that for pvp, focusing on chilling foes would probably be a good support option. Does this work or has it been tried and falls? I currently have this build set up that. http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/elementalist/?1.0|8.5m.ha.d.5m.h1l.d13.0.d13|0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0|5c.7u.5c.7u.5c.7u.5c.7u.5c.7u.5c.7u.d16.d16.d16.d16.d16.d16|2u.d13.2u.d13.3u.d16.2u.d13.3u.d16.3u.d16|u128.0.u67b.0.a3|30.1|1l.1y.1s.27.29|e
If you don’t want to look at that, basically the summary is that it is based on condition duration, followed with toughness and vitality which I know are not ideal stats for elementalist.
It uses Ice ruin, Givers weapons, and possibly the ice bow to stack up to condition duration for chill being between 130% to 150% with the ice bow.
With enough defensive stats, it should be possible to land several chill effects on multiple foes, since they stack in duration, this build should slow down the enemies cooldowns to the point that they can easily be taken down by another player. If anyone with more experience has any hints, suggestions, or complaints toward this build, please comment and let me know.
