Hello everyone, so I have been playing Guildwars 2 since the game has come out. I had taken a few months off from the game and now am getting back into it.
I really enjoy WvW and roaming as a dps class. I have an Elementalist that is duel dagger. I have all Celest Gear with Dywana healing runes.
I have 2 Ascended and the rest exotic.
For some reason I just cant beat a engineer 1v1. They are either flipping around to much, putting turrets that either put me on my butt, trap me, or pull me in and do a TON of damage. Even when I run earth, fire and water, or Fire water and arcane, I can only get them to about half if I’m lucky.
Is this typical? I mean are engineers just that good? I realize they are much harder to fight up close but, they are impossible to pin down with all their turrets.
Anyone have an suggestions? Are engineers broken?
I am huge WvW player in this game and I would really like to continue playing it, but as soon as a massive zerg fight appears my FPS drops down wo 10 and sometimes below to 8.
I have tried everything I could possibly imagine besides over clocking. I do not know my exact specs but i do have an I5 processor, a GTX 570 and i have 16GB of ram. I know this is not specific enough to ask question about but I have a general question.
I would like to over clock my graphics card, but should i also over clock my cpu? and if anyone has any experience with this and has done this, did it help with the FPS?
Hello Everyone, I have read many post about speculation on what to do to help frame rate. I just would like to know if investing in an i7 will truly help better my frames. Everything i read i5 vs i7, people say its just not worth the price. My specs are,
i5 processor
GTX570
Ram is maxed out
I read the FPS issue fix that devs posted. That did help my frame rates. But, when I run with a zerg and we attack another zerg. My frames drop down to 10. Sometimes they fall below that. My grapichs are all turned to low, or lowest and shadows off, character detail lowest. I have done everything I could think of, and still choppy and slow and terrible frames. Will an I7 improve my FPS?
Some Kinda Hate is recruiting. The guild is simple. We want players to be able to log on, have other players online that want to compete in Spvp tournaments. Once we get a solid core, we will apply to compete in tournaments.

I actually made a pet build and tried it in WvW and Spvp. People usually just kited pets, or theives would just use an ability that lets them stealth as long as they hit a target, so he would hop in and out of stealth while using my pets as a method of permanent stealth.
And when my pets were on cool down, game over. I am speaking in a 1v1 fight. I have been struggling to find a staff build that does enough damage to kill someone from a distance. It seems everyone just dodges all aoes.
This is just a thought, and I have no tried this out in game just yet. My thinking was, why not make a staff build using pets?

I think no matter what, you need 20 in air for, inscription and quick glyph. I mean besides that, you can go full earth for protection, or kinda just mix and match according to play style.
For utility, use lesser elemental and elemental power. In the beginning of a fight, bring out 2 pets right away and than use elemental power and shoot way. Staff has great mechanics for getting away and as well, keep you pets close by for stunning, damge and interrupting.
I have not tried this yet but, I would imagine its pretty good in the thought process. I am going to respec and try this out in WvW.
If anyone has come up with this build and tried it, please let me know how it has worked out for you.
I have been reading the forums for some time now. I have been playing an Ele since Beta. I pose this question to the Devs of Anet and who ever else shares my opinion.
Is the Staff being looked at and tweaked at all for Damage purposes? I am not trying to complain and I already know how strong the daggers are vs any of the weapon choices. I just want to be able to use a staff as an ele. I feel like as a mage class, range dps should be a stronger point, not melee duel dagger.
I agree. There is nothing more I can even say after this. Its been very hard, and ive been turning my head upside down trying to find any build that is good damage for the staff. I have tried everything, I even crunched numbers, used formulas, sat at practice dummies. Staff just cant cut it for damage in PVP and PvE. It is sad because I am forced to use D/D and than I get annoyed cause I want to use a staff.
I am at a point where I will just play my warrior. At least I can use heavy armor in melee range.
One other thing i forgot to add,
Even when I turn to best performance out in WvW i still get 10 to 15 frames in big battles. This means everything is at its lowest possible.
Hello everyone, I am not perfect with computers and I was hoping someone could help me understand why my fps is so low. I thought I had a pretty nice rig set up, here are my specs.
Windows 8
Intel I5 3.33GHzM
Mother board: Dh55tc
16 GB of Ram
Nvidia GTX 570
I also have my computer running as high performance.
I can play PVE with Med to High settings and get about 30 to 40 frames.
Out in WvW when there are say over 40 or 50 players on screen fighting the enemy my frames drop to about 5 to 10.
