Hello Synrae, I’m sorry this bug snagged you! It should be fixed now. I don’t believe there is a way to choose the other option now that this one is selected (it’s risky to change character data.) However, it shouldn’t effect what order you choose to join in the future. Picking plan A or B will only effect how you approach this specific quest split.

Well, I’m glad to hear the bug was fixed. At least it won’t happen to anyone else. I understand the decision will not affect my order, it’s just that this choice/action is so out of character for my Sylvari, and that really bugs me. I hope this doesn’t affect what quests I get after this too much.

My character is a level 22 Sylvari Ranger, doing the level 22 My Story quest “A Splinter in the Flesh.” You meet the Pale Tree in her chambers and there are three faction NPCs present. One who reported the situation, and the two who want to do something about it. There are two options to choose from, one wants to do battle, and the other wants to use some kind of experiential golem turret or something. I wanted to do the battle option (sorry, I don’t remember the NPC names, but it was a female NPC), but I talked to the other NPC to find out more about his faction (he was male) before making my choice.

I went through a few of his dialog options, and had no problem. But when I got to the part where I asked about his faction (not his plan, there were two options to select from), it updated the dialog box. There were now only two options to choose from this panel, one to go back (has the green arrow icon next to the option), and one to exit his conversation (had a bix red X icon). I clicked the X because I had already gone through all the options on the previous panel. But when I clicked the X, instead of closing the conversation, it selected him as my choice and offered me my reward. The option to complete or make your selection normally looks like a triangle with an arrow design in it, and there definitely wasn’t that icon on this panel.

I emailed and asked if it was possible for it to be reset (I haven’t played since this happened, or selected my reward for this quest), and the email I got only said to come here and post. Is there any way it can be undone?
