well i cant find the blog post addressing this (it was deleted gg anet) but it would be nice to get some official input on the “official trinity” and if its still considered Damage, Control, and Support or not.

they said themselves that there was a trinity in the game, i don’t see how people keep thinking they designed without its trinity in mind.

I thought the trinity was Damage, Control, and Support, not that most groups know that, they just throw any combo of crap at anything and expect to win (lol… poor suckers)

I figured this out months ago after getting my 5th 80 and finishing gearing them out, got done with my legendary, and got to fractal level 50, that Gw2 endgame, is playing another game, and my whole guild feels that way, the “endgame” we have is just stale recycled mechanics we are used to (guild bounty’s etc are just glorified dynamic events), and no real elite area to keep the higher up players interested, not to mention the 5 party size limit on everything in the game makes it hard to play with a group of friends over 5 people, (someone always has to sit one out while wishing we had a 10 man or 8 man instance). in short I love gw2, but, something needs to be pulled out of the “expansion” bin they have of held back content to keep more hardcore players playing.

you talk as if guild bounty is the only thing to work for or do with guilds

from what i Understand Guild challenge is a much harder fight

Its still just a dynamic event.

Guild Missions [merged]

Here are my concerns about the new guild mission system and the effects it will have on a percentage of the community. I lead a smallish guild of around 50 members, we are a tight knit group, we focus on the skill of our members rather than sheer numbers. With the current guild system, we are looking at Months of grinds and build times, we have already dumped upwards of 200g on influence just so we can access some of the guild bounties sooner, and hopefully keep our members from jumping ship to a large guild with the upgrades already done and going, with everyone starved for new content and some sort of real “endgame” or elite areas and challenges, as a guild leader (of a smaller guild), the current system of representation is a nightmare, this update has blatantly encouraged guild hopping, and since we can only earn influence for members who are representing, it becomes harder and harder to keep people. Don’t get me wrong I love this new update, but I feel it will potentially be the death of smaller to mid sized guilds, and render growth from this point in the game onward (unless changes are made) sterile, and they will be unable to recruit or retain membership or representation. The main issues are that this leaves small guilds with 3 choices, either give up their identity as a guild and merge with a larger one, grind or buy the influence to access the new content to keep people interested, or, wait it out and further complicate your situation. The best solution that I can come up with for this would be to somehow separate the tiers into more achievable levels for smaller to mid sized guilds, such as lowering the prerequisite upgrades required to start the build on a guild mission. Its not about the skill of the players , its about numbers. Guild Wars certainly takes on a whole new meaning after this update. As always I hope this is helpful in some way and I hope something gets worked out in time.

100% agree with this, we need some sort of item bar that can be toggled on or off

Frequent Disconnection Issues

For the first few hours I log back online, its like the games internal AFK time out keeps kicking me for no user input over the span of 15-20 seconds, that happens every day, and very, very frequently, I get the error code 7:11:3:189:101 and I know its not on my end as every other online application I use has zero problems or lag of this nature. Its incredibly frustrating, any info on a fix or even a conformation from Arena Net that they know and are working on this Issue would be very much appreciated, I can provide any additional information needed.

Expanding the Max Party Size (Please Read)

I was just wondering if anet had any plans to increase the party size to maybe 8 or 10 for some harder dungeons (ones that are not added yet) or even general PvE, I run a very large guild and the one thing people complain about every day is the 5 man max party size, we always end up breaking someones heart by saying “we are full sorry”. For general PvE its not so bad because they can simply join us in whatever zone we happen to be in, but its simply not the same as actually being in the party (getting to see health bars, and even the icons on the mini map) and as far as dungeons, this is where the problem gets more serious, its like a constant battle to play with your friends, and I feel that the current 5 man system will work for the state of the game right now, but as more and more people make friends and get larger and larger guilds, my problem will become more prevalent. We do have squads, but unfortunately that provides no “Squad UI”, or anyway to see your squad on the map. So in short please, please consider expanding the party limit back to 8 or maybe even 10 for future “Elite” dungeons or PvE areas.

Yours Truly,
A Very Concerned Guild Leader.

All day yesterday and today I keep getting randomly disconnected, (and no its not my ISP) and today twice now it has crashed when i took a way point, (took my gold for the fee, yet I’m still in the same zone I was trying to leave) and its crashing again, now I can’t even log in at all, I know the EU servers are having problems, but this is a NA server, needless to say, this is very, very annoying.

Dungeon Vendor Buyback

This game really needs some sort of dungeon vendor buyback system on a timer (say 1 hour after buying the armor/weapon) to give back tokens wrongfully spent, I’m one to double check what I buy, but i have unfortunately accidentally bought the complete wrong piece of armor on many occasions, and it is extremely frustrating.

when I 1st read the patch notes about this, i thought it sounded cool, but then I saw that the gear had better stats, i was a little shocked that the gear grind would start so early, also i don’t like how they are going to be using the forge so much for new item upgrades, we all know how much of a sink that thing is (I’ve wasted upwards of 100g with no return) i just really hope they know what they are doing and what the player base actually wants in the game, i love gw2 and anet and only wish for the best…
