Suggested Improvements for the Next Holiday Festival...

You realize you are scaled up if you are too low a level to take on the Mad King, right? I did it on my level 33.

As for the scavenger hunt, it is kind of frustration to do on a low level character if you’re going for the pages in the higher level areas, but it’s still doable and not super hard.

Oh I see. I was busy enough to not really do much of the areas myself, but my roommate told me he could not do anything because he was too low of a level and the cap was 80.

I guess that goes to show how observant he is, and how misinformed I was.

Heyyo Anet. c:

I really like Guild Wars 2. It’s pretty amazing.

I was somewhat disappointed in the Halloween Festival, as I was unable to participate in some of the most rewarding parts of the holiday festivities, mostly due to the fact that I work a lot, and also because I am only level 29.

I wanted to make some suggestions, that will most likely remain unheard, but that would probably be something worthy of consideration for future festival type events you hold.

1. Level Cap Requirements
I certainly understand the appeal of making it a true challenge for players to get their aesthetic gear from festival events. In fact, I think it’s preferable.

But to limit holiday content to only those players who are level capped is to disappoint many players.

Might I pose an example as to how this could be remedied, while still providing a challenge for players?

Instead of having an instanced area for only level 80s, why not make one for several level intervals?

A level 10, level 20, level 30, level 40, level 50, etc version of the same instance with weaker monsters depending on the cap there? Simply make it so players can only enter the challenge that is most suitable for their level (for example, a level 80 cannot attempt to participate in the level 10 version of the instance, only the level 80 one) but all can reap the reward and experience some challenge doing so.

ACT III of the Halloween event should not have been reserved for level 80s alone.

nor should you have advertised it on facebook as an ambiguous surprise without warning folks about the level requirement

ACT III should have been accessible to any player; level 10 and up.

2. One-Time Only Events

This should almost never happen in an MMO. If you want your playerbase to be happy, instead have this “one time event” occur every so often (once a day, twice a day, every 3 hours, whatever) but make it so a single player can do the event once, and only once.

This makes people who love your game, but also work a lot feel waaaay less excluded. If you’re worried about players reaping the reward on every character for some reason, then just make the loot account bound and restricted to one per, or something.

But those were really my only issues with the festivities!

Uhh, well the Lion has been progressively changing to look like it’s… exploding with paranormal energy. There’s an event going on in the court there and the paranormality level is reaching it’s breaking point… so it may look worse than when you last saw it. Also it’s night time in the screenshot, and the mood is meant to look gloomy… -shrug-

Looks like your gpu is overheating, or something… Is that the lion in LA?

Yes… really, looks glitchy? My GPU is only at around 35°C, and never goes above around 75°C…

I do so love the aesthetics they’ve added to Lion’s Arch. Very congenial.

This is my submission. I especially like the moon.

(my choice of lexemes are quite asuran, no?)

Well, I went and did some adventuring in Brisband wildlands, completed the area, and afterwards, went back to Rata Sum to try again.

This time, it loaded fine for me. Onwards!

I’ve just finished the first part of the asuran story quest “Forging Permission”. I’ve forged the documents to get into Gorr’s Lab, and I’ve gone to see Rakt there. Now I need to “confer with Zojja”, and when I try to enter the instanced area, it brings up the loading screen… and then just sits there forever.

After closing down the client, and restarting the game, I then got an error saying I had a firewall blocking the game.

I do not have a firewall blocking the game, nor have I changed any settings of late.

I restarted my computer, and the game starts fine now, however I still cannot get into the instanced area to continue my story quest.

Are there any known issues with this particular quest line? Or is there something wrong with my game files indicating I need to somehow run a repair?
