Regaining account lent to a Friend

OK, before I take up time in the Support queue with this, I thought I’d post here and ask whether you guys think this will actually get me anywhere.

Back in 2012 I bought two copies of the game, one for me, one for my now ex-girlfriend. Glossing over her story, she’s sold all the gaming equipment I let her borrow and we aren’t together anymore. My question is, can I at least recover the account I let her use? the game was bought digitally on Amazon, and I know the account name, and I think I know the email address (she kept making new ones). I also have what Amazon calls the “Activation Code” which i think is the CD key.

Do you think I will actually be able to regain access to this account?

Unable to connect to servers normally

So, I have had Guild Wars 2 for almost an entire year now, and connecting on my home set up has always been great until just about a week ago. I began getting “Connection Error(s) Detected. Retrying…” whenever I started up the client. I contacted support, was told it was probably an issue with my home network (which had not changed) and set about changing connections.

A little bit of info on my network. I have wireless internet that comes from a large tower in the nearby town, to what we’ve always called the ‘radio’ on a TV tower next to the house. From there it travels inside to a connector that powers this radio, where it connects to our router. From there it gets distributed around the house, including to a bridge-like device upstairs, which is where I had my desktop plugged into the internet.

After talking to support, I unwound my back-up 50ft LAN cable and ran it behind all the furniture to the router. After fiddling with power-cycling (unplugging the device for about ten seconds to reset it) I finally managed to connect. Game was fine after that, except for lag I had not noticed before, things not loading for about half a minute, which I can deal with, but had never happened before this. After two days of double shifts at work I start the client back up to play some more when I get the Connection Error again.

So I go back downstairs and power cycle the router a couple times, still not connecting. Try power cycling both router and radio, still nothing. As a last resort I try plugging my desktop directly into the radio (which can’t be a permanent solution, as I’m not the only one using this connection) and low and behold, it works. Plug it back into the router and it’s a no go again.

So I connect back to the radio, go upstairs, start the client, get logged in, and go back downstairs, switch to the router, and come back upstairs. game works fine. Close client, open, and i get connection error again. I’ve done this a couple times now and have proved to myself at least that as long as it connects first without the router, the game doesn’t care if I then connect to the router to play.

Can anyone think of a fix for this problem, or even what the issue might be?

Looking for GW1 guildmates

In Guild Wars 1, I was a lowly member of a Guild known as the Order of Xenophobia. Guildmates may remember me as Greg Arrowslinger. I was reminded of this when I logged back in to complete a few more tasks for HoM points. After reading the guild message, I felt the desire to rejoin this guild in GW2, as it seems to have transitioned over.

If anyone from said guild reads this, let me know how best to go about rejoining you guys.
