Another thing to mention (I don’t know if this is true for Whirling Axe, but it is for Flurry) is that when using Flurry on non-npc targets, like training dummies and mortars, it works just fine. The only time I come across the problem for Flurry is when attacking actual npcs.

The F1 skill while using a 1h sword (Flurry) also only hits about half as many times for an Asura. Half the size shouldn’t mean half the damage! Let me hit things, Anet!

Just wanted to mention that this bug is still present in the most recent patch, Flame & Frost.

I enjoy using the 1h sword on my Asura warrior and would like to be able to do so without being at a disadvantage.

I am playing a female Asura Warrior. When I use my F1 ability for 1h sword (Flurry) I only actually hit my target 4 times. My first three swings hit and the very last one (since it’s interrupted, so to speak, the last swing is as weak as the first one instead of dealing much more damage).

My SO tested this out on his Charr Warrior and hit 8 times when he used Flurry. As an Asura, the animation will play throughout but after three swings it no longer makes a hitting sound and does not show me hitting my target nor does it show more than the four hits in my combat log.

This bug only shows up while attacking “live” targets. When I attack targets such as mortars, turrets, etc. then Flurry works as intended by striking throughout the animation.

Edit: I’ve asked around a little and it seems that it also is not a bug on male Humans. It seems to be strictly an Asura bug thus far. Can anyone playing a Norn or Sylvari confirm this?
