Mine is a large nosed human thief called Edmond Cavalieri, he was raised as a street rat, but trough cunning, charisma and a love for poetry, he has climbed among the wealthy in Divinity’s Reach, seducing the rich women in order to take their wealth and distribute it among the poor of the city…. (loved by the wives and daughters and hated by their husbands and fathers respectively) Cavalieri means gentleman in Italian… but is not sure if it’s his real family name or just a nickname, that of course he choose himself. I took for inspiration Cyrano the Bergerac and Giacomo Casanova for his personality

Mine is an Elementalist called Triallair, it means “traveller” in Gaelic, I’m really into lore names….

Personally, I think Cultural Heavy T3 looks awesome for a Sylvari (specially the helmet)! I just have a Sylvari ranger (medium armor) and elementalist (light armor). But I’m thinking to create a guardian just for the awesomeness of the T3. My advice get that one, or a combo between parts of T1 and T3, better if your Sylvari doens’t look leafish but more like barkish for that kind of armor. Is just my opnion
Btw, I think the color of your Sylvari might affect the color of the armor, but I’m not sure about this, my advice: instead of deleting your character and thus, the hours you expended on it, why not total makeover kit? you can change the things you don’t like in his/her appearance and maybe the T3 would look much better after that

Sonya Jannadottir sounds pretty Norn to me, I give it a 8, Frejya Stormshield sounds quite good actually, I give a 9. I really like lore names.
Mine is a Norn Guardian called Sigurd Asbjornsson. Sigurd means in old Norse “Guardian of Victory”, and Asbjornsson means “Son of the Bear God”. And yeah, he is blessed by the Bear Spirit

Good I found this post, because exactly the same thing happens to my ranger sylvari… specially in places like Lion’s Arch and sometimes in Eternal Battlegrounds. I have other characters, Asura, and Charr, and this never happens on them. However, with my other sylvari, which has one of the new faces from makeover kit, this never occurs. Also, when using way points to new locations, my sylvari character disappears for a while and the only thing I can see are his weapons. I suppose it’s because the places are overflowed, but again, this doesn’t happen to my other characters…

8/10 for Yullma, it kind of sounds like a lore name… your character is a female right? because for a male it just sounds not right. My new Asura character is a Necromancer called Doctor Kripp. I really like lore names. On the other hand I used the total makeup kit to choose one of the new faces that is disgusting enough for this little fella. So, anybody needs a creepy doctor?

Finland here as well, Suomen perse area: Turku, and checking the forums, a lot of Finnish players from different servers are having this issue… Can’t be a coincidence. Server Ruins of Surmia (EU) Btw, is not the internet connection, since it’s working fine, and is not my computer either!!!

Same here, check the forums, A LOT of people are complaining about this right now, for me started two hours ago, first every so and so, now it’s unplayable, can’t even start the game before it crashes. Server Ruins of Surmia (EU) Connection from Finland!!! Fix this Arena Net!!!!

Getting disconnected every few minutes, it started about an hour ago!!!! now I can’t even start the game, since it crashes!! While checking the forums I noticed that many people are having this same issue, and strangely I see a lot of players from Finland, like me (and a Estonian cousin) , Server Ruins of Surmia!!! So frustrating, vitun ärsyttävä juttu!!!

So, I have been checking the forums and it seems that a lot of people are having the same problem. It seems that it started yesterday and now many players are commenting that the game disconnects them between a couple of minutes of game… for me, I can’t even start the game right now!!! Same here, it started about an hour ago, and now and can’t even start the game, since it immediately disconnects me, server Ruins of Surmia, connecting from Finland, and my internet connection is ok … really annoying and it seems many people are having this issue!

Tarreth Stromscream, I give it a 10/10, sounds very lore to me, the first name, not a Roman one, but still strong enough, and the second name, I suppose “storm” is the name of the warband? I like it, sounds pretty good for a charr warrior!
I tend to stick with lore names, so my engineer charr is called Gnaeus Harshblast, he is part of the Iron Legion and the Harsh warband and a specialist in explosives. The first name is Roman… I like this new facet of the charr been like the Romans, a militaristic empire and thus representing that through the names

Actually Hylek names are inspired just by Nahuatl (the language spoken by the Aztecs). Quechua (the language of the Inca) and Mayan sound quite different and not at all like the Hylek names.
From the wiki page: "The Nahuatl word “tecuani” means “biter”, “wild beast”, or “poisonous” according to how it is used; “coatl” means snake. The boss’ name is similar to Quetzalcoatl, the Feathered Serpent, a major deity in the Mesoamerican pantheon".

As some people have already remarked it, a Legendary that you can buy with real money doesn’t involve challenging feats. so, nope, that is not a good answer :P

Ok, so, my main focus on the game is PVE, but I have tried a little bit of PvP and WvW. Why? Because I’m trying to get Legendary and in order to do this I need World Completition. But honestly is getting frustrated. I know many people who feel like me and think is non-sense to force players to constantly check a part of the game they don’t enjoy. Plus the fact that the most difficult jumping puzzles are in WvW Eternal Battlegrounds and I suck on them :P Really, why ArenaNet don’t keep separated World Completition, same as they do with achievements and the Dayli. It’s frustrating for us, players that just want to enjoy PvE, and also for WvW players, since we keep the server busy… Probably ArenaNet is not going to answer or even do something about it… But it would be great, in a game we all love, not be be forced to do certain things that cause you frustration and not amusement.

Unfortunately I’m on a European server… yes, I just play Sylvari…

I like the name, Ciana, fits perfectly the Sylvari theme 10/10. Personally I don’t like the plant names, I rather prefer the Celtic, Wellish, Gaelic. Mine is a Ranger called Elidr (a Celtic name meaning sorrow, I liked it phonetically). His loyal companion is a Fern hound called Fergus.

Hi guys, I’m playing a Sylvari ranger as a main character, equipped with cultural armor T2 and two cultural weapons (i just love the look). I’m planning to get a quiver, but I was wondering, which one would match the “sylvari look”, any recommendations?

Hi everybody, if somebody could please help me with this simple question. Can I still buy a Toy Golem (the ones from Wintersday) trough the Gem Store or is not possible anymore? Because I can’t find them! I didn’t do the dungeons, and I thought they would stay on the store, but last time I checked they where nowhere to be found! I would like to have one for my Asura Elementalist!

There was various content of new places and people resembling different world cultures in Guild Wars 1.
Prophecies was western medieval themed
Factions was Asian
Nightfall was North African

I know with time Guild Wars 2 will continue with that tradition and will re-introduce those parts of the world.

What I would like to see is a part of the world that is South American theme with Aztec/Mayan-like weapons and cities with pyramids…. maybe some native South American music?

I have included a pic of a Macuahuitl weapon, to get a picture of what a South American Greatsword would look like.

Just to correct, Maya and Aztec are not found at all in South America, because the last starts in Colombia, so If you want to refer to the Maya and Aztec then the right term is Central and North America (yes, Mexico is North America, along with Canada and the USA) Maybe Mesoamerican Culture would be more appropriated, just saying
