PvE should be okay at 1366 × 768 minimum quality. I recommend a EU (European) server even if you’re in the US. Your computer is going to struggle in US servers because there’s too many characters and skill effects to show on the screen. EU servers have less people but definitely enough people to play with, and they speak English.
I don’t think your computer can handle US WvW. Even powerful computers struggle with it. If you plan to do a lot of WvW definitely go EU. Ask for a good but smaller server on the WvW forums.
alright thanks for the heads up, but i want to have good ping. but i might consider this if its really laggy, but i dont mind minimum settings, i play most games that way since my comp isnt good and id rather have higher more stable fps.
btw im seeing that there is no “raiding” in this game? but theres end game bosses to kill in open world? arent there dungeons?
For all of you that are harping that he got took for what he got. Price it out yourselves. Roughing the prices of the parts, there is about $2000.00 in parts listed. Not including case, keyboard, mouse, PSU, etc. Add in labor and shipping and he got a pretty good deal and didn’t have to do the screwdriver time himself. SO, unless you can part out an equivalent machine for less, you need to give him some space. Check the prices on Newegg or some other REPUTABLE parts dealer.
done includes case and OS. Not trying to make OP feel bad about his purchase, it will accommodate his needs. Just don’t try and tell me that’s a $2000+ machine lol. I’m a computer science major, not an apple consumer.

I used to play on a laptop that could handle gw2 on medium settings, but i had to stop because it started to overheat a lot, even with cooling pad and changing the fan didnt help. So i think keeping an eye on the cpu temperature for laptop is more important than the minimum system requirements for gaming.

Im playing GW2 on Nvidia GeForce 8600 lol so what you think now xD?Its like 6 + years old graphic card.I play on low but no fps issues at all.
I would still been using that card if it didnt break like 2 years ago.

i just bought the game as well, and at first i had the same problem, i figure its cause your making passwords that are to easy.
Be sure to use upper lower numbers and symbols, cause that is what worked for me once i had at least one of each of those and about 10 characters. but I’m sure it works for 8 but try 10+.
Hope it works for you, i admit i was a bit weirded out myself as well too cause it doesnt say that you need to make the password with all those things i mentioned.
