Ok guys – I appreciate the “hardware” suggestions, but lets be clear, games like Witcher 3 on ultra uses a bit more resources than GW2 (like seriously). And Why it only happens in GW2?

I can play ANY game on ultra with GPU temps around 60, in Witcher 3 I reach 66. Additionally, lets be serious – overheating GPUs on lowest settings, by looking at a flat wall, with nothing else to work on vs Ultra in open world of Witcher 3? yeah…

As for Crossfire – as I stated before, My cards have a lot of room in between them and two fans blowing directly at them, there is no dust in my fans, case, radiators – I clean my PC very often.

I tried the older, newest, and Beta drivers – but it made no difference.

This looks like some software bug in GW2 :/

I’m using all the latest drivers, and my fans are working fine – when I start GW2 they rev up to 100% in a minute, and stay there until my PC crash.

My GPU is being loaded more with GW2 than when I’m mining bitcoins…

Cooling of my PC is not an issue (I build PC’s as a job, got more fans and airflow than needed) – I can Play Crisis 3, BF4, GTAV, Tera, WoW, WoT, CS:GO, on highest settings… kitten I even played Witcher 3 on Ultra and my GPUs barely scratch 70 C. And in GW2 I can’t look at a wall on lowest settings (yes, I have just tried to limit my view to a single wall, and nothing else), because in minutes my GPU reaches 100 C and my PC shuts down.

What the hell is wrong with this game ?

Hi!

I have a problem with GW2 – I tried to play yesterday, and my GPU overheated so much that my PC shut down (It literally lasted less than 5 minutes). Funny thing is that it overheated faster on crossfire than on a single card (Yes, there is a lot of space in between them, and everything is cooled properly)

My PC runs cool on most demanding games out there, with ultra settings, and I’m getting over 90 fps in GW2 (in other games, the fans never reached even half of the RPM, it did on GW2). It does not matter if I play on highest or the lowest settings – that’s why I think it’s the game issue. I have tried to set the fps limit to 60 and 30, but it made no difference.

My Specs are as follows:
Intel Core i7 4790K
16GB 1600MHz CL7 HyperX RAM 4×4
System SSD/WD Black for GW2
2x Radeon R9 280X (tried Crossfire and single)
Asus z97 Pro Gamer
1200W EVGA PSU
Windows 7 64 Bit

Is there any fix for this? What can I do to play this game for longer than 5 minutes?

Cheers!
