We had this happen on our run, too – three of our five-person party got stuck in the unbreakable cage, which completely ended our attempt. Quite frustrating, but a lot fun up until then.

That happened to me – it means you entered the code after the 30-second window had ticked over. Just try to make sure you’re within the window (and check for typos), and it should be fine!
Thanks for doing this, Mike and ArenaNet, it’s much appreciated. Although, it makes me sad to realize that my Guild Wars 2 account is now more secure than some of my financial institutions.
The only other person I know who also got 100% for August along with me was also in the headstart – her achievement reset, mine did not.
We both got it on August 31st, mine came around 1PM Eastern, she got 100% maybe an hour later, but both of us finished well before the rollover time.
I have my suspicions that it didn’t reset if you were logged on at the time of achievements rolling over to September.
My friend and I were both on at the time of rollover, both 100% complete – her achievement was for September and all progress had been reset when we checked next (within an hour of rollover), mine was for September but hadn’t been reset.
I’m the opposite, my August monthly achievement was stuck at 93% due to the ‘Experience Survivor’ bug. It reset for September on August 31st (for some reason) and I was robbed of the chest.
Guild Wars 2 uses UTC as its timezone, so the day flips over at midnight UTC, which is 8:00PM Eastern, and 5:00PM Pacific, so depending on where you’re located, that’s why it reset when it was still August 31st for you. This site is pretty handy to keep tabs on when the daily (and monthly) achievements will roll over to the next day.
The survivor wonkiness has been well documented and is another bug entirely – a lot of factors are affecting it, not just deaths (like leaving zones via waypoints, disconnecting or logging out – the only surefire way to get it is to get 100k experience in one crafting session, it seems!). It sucks you missed out on the August monthly, hopefully everybody’s bugs will be sorted before the end of September.

It reset correctly and I will have the next 20 coins soon and september finished. And if someone is trying to remove that 20 coins from me then I’ll stop playing the game.
I don’t think anyone would like to see the people for whom it reset correctly penalized – we’d just like the opportunity to do the same as you.
You should check out this thread about the non-resetting Monthly Achievement and consider adding to it.
There’s actually another thread on this topic here. I’d recommend adding your voices to that one!
Also, for those suggesting that the game hasn’t been out for a month or that they merged months, keep in mind that they did reset for some people, so one way or another, there’s something off here.
From what I understand, monthly achievements are supposed to change each month.
Can anyone who has had their progress reset speak to whether or not the achievements have changed?
Either way, no matter how it’s supposed to function, it would be great to hear from ArenaNet on the matter.

I think they might have done it on purpose since the game came out in the very end of august.
The fact that some people had their progress reset when it rolled over to 0:00 UTC on September 1st would indicate otherwise, though.
Same for me. Completed the August achievements on August 31st, well before the date rollover – the achievement progress did not reset even when the achievement changed to being for September.
It did reset (correctly, I assume) for a friend of mine, but most people I know are in the same situation.
I did submit a ticket on Saturday, haven’t heard anything back yet – but I suspect there are issues with higher priorities at the moment. Would love for this to get fixed before the end of the month though.
