First… Check if your firewall or antivirus are blocking the .exe
Second of all… run the .exe as administrator.
Now, follow this steps:
-Put the .exe in a new folder in the desktop or anywhere you want.
-Change the name of the .exe to “Gw2.exe”.
-This will create 3 files and one folder. Look for the with “.tmp”.
-Delete Gw2.exe and change the name of the “.tmp” to “.exe”.
-Start this new “.exe”.
Let us know what happened.
I already told them on the ticket.
No response after they told me that probably the issue was my location. That maybe i have to put the billing country first. But that doesnt fix this. lol…
So yeah… I wasnt clear at the opening of the thread. But I’m coming to you guys(the players), if anyone had that issue and could fix it.
(I need that Bank Expansion though)
Like the tittle says this happens to me. I already sent a ticket and they send me a “solution”, sort of speak. That I have to delete the folder named it as gw2cache-(and alot of numbers).
Anyway… I can type on the billing country. I put my country that I am(Mexico), I tried with United States too. And doesnt show anything else, except that the “Next” button goes blank.

EDIT: Attach the image.
You are welcome.
I actually send a ticket myself too. And i wasnt ready to wait for probably the whole weekend and monday too, to play this game. Probably the ones purchasing the game are thinking the same.
Okay so… I finally get what i had to do to make this thing work.
THIS SOLUTION ONLY WORKS FOR MY PROBLEM.probably(?)
(as im typying this down, im dowloading the game)
Follow the steps that i did before this final one.
And after all that stuff, after you look everywhere around to get the problem fixed. Do this…
-Get the setup after you rename it,(Gw2Setup.exe to Gw2.exe) into a new folder in whatever place you want, I recommend the Desktop.
-Next. Run the Setup… This will create 2 files and one folder called “bin”.
-Delete the file called Gw2.exe. And yes, i mean the Setup you download from the website.
-Look into the files that were created thanks to the setup. And search for Gw2.tmp. And RENAME it to “Gw2.exe”.
-Run this new .exe and the setup will start to download all the stuff.
If you are having problems with the low downloading stuff. Use the “-assetsrv 62.154.232.187:80” trick.
(edited by Tesz.2960)
I buy the game, made an account. Download the Setup multiple times.
-Change the name of the setups to “Gw2”.
-Turn off the Firewall. I dont have any antivirus installed so there’s no “blocking” on that zone.
-I create a shortcut of the game and put this: “-assetsrv 62.154.232.187:80” on the Target description.
-I looked for windows updates (no major ones or NET Framework ones).
-I update my videocard drivers.
-And finally I run the Setup as administrator.
Keeps sending the message “Unable to verify the Guild Wars 2 executable”.
System specs:
Windows 7 64bits.
AMD FX 63000
Geforce GTX 750 TI
8 GB of RAM
1 TB HDD
What about the people that cant install the game in the first place?
Same here.
Stops at 11384kb and the login screen doesnt pop out. Instead a new windows pop out and says that is “Unable to verify the Guild Wars 2 Executable”.
