The biggest problem with arena-style dueling is how quickly the arena/location becomes stale once you’ve done it enough times. I’d love in world dueling, but I agree that the power spam would be horrid around popular areas. I personally think that (if in-world dueling comes to GW2) it should be disabled in cities, as well as a personal culling effect on the players/powers that are currently participating in the duel. There could maybe be a small event-type window in the top right reading “There is currently a duel taking place in this location, would you like to spectate? Y/N”. Duelists would be able to fight each-other wherever they please in the amazing environments without accidentally harassing those that don’t want anything to do with it. If someone is bothered by a tiny window informing them about something duel-related, they could deactivate the notifications in the options. As for “those people” with the elitist “duel me, scrub” attitude, there’s always the report option for personal harassment and verbal abuse. I say let Anet decide the fate of those horrible human beings.
