Please, add a vertical layers option to the map (I mean the map that pops up when you press “m”) so you can see the map as is now, or in a frontal plane view.
Imho, the current kind of map is not suitable to represent the new HoT areas. This is not a criticism of the new areas, in fact, I love the new maps (congrats designers!) but, sometimes, going to a place can be a little frustrating, even if it has already been explored. I think that with this new option, the maps can be more enjoyable.
Proposal Overview
Public calendar
Goal of Proposal
To help Guilds advertise and organize public events.
To help players find an organized event.
Proposal of Functionality
A public calendar per region (maybe per home world) where a guild can announce that they are going to do a public event (Organized Dry Top, Tequatl, karka queen…) on a specific date and everyone is welcome.
Associated Risks
To allocate all the people who want to do the event in the same map of the megaserver
Manual height adjustment – the ability to move the centre of screen up, so that the bottom 1/3 of my monitor is no longer the ground behind me. This would increase the visibility of the world around us, and (most importantly for me) allow us to see more of the art in game.
I think this could a be fine solution and I agree that it would allow us to see more of the world around us. On the other hand, while in combat I would rather be more at the center of the screen for a more tactical view.
I like the current position of the camera when I am looking toward the ground but when turning the camera up the height should be adjusted gradually to a higher position. Then again, if this is too complicated, I’m ok with the option for manual height adjustment.
For me, the main issue is that I am always looking down, towards the ground and my character. When I want to look up, the camera feels unnaturally and force me to zoom in. It is like I’m always in combat mode. For combat is ok but not for exploring and see the world around you.
IMHO a kind of “smart pivot” should be introduced so when I look up, the camera doesn’t keep my character in the center of the screen.
What I’ve seen so far is a big improvement. The story telling is much better, new map, new mechanics, without external guides to know how to follow the story…
In this episode I’m enjoying the story rather than farming AP.
Congrats ANet, keep it up!
1. Elementalist
2. Mesmer
3. Ranger
1) New weapon skills so we can choose among two options for slots 1-5 and make our own weapon-build.
2) Character progression through personal story quests (e.g., unlock the new skills through class-related personal story elements).
3) Improve the existing Personality System and evolve it into a new Relationship System with NPCs. Some relationships can lead to gain new skills, traits or buffs.
Some of you posted about your favorite releases and least favorite. It would be really cool if you have the time to post your single favorite and least favorite and the reasons why for each. This would help a lot and I will share my learning with you etc. from the posts.
Favourite: Bazaar of the Four Winds (new lore, skills and map to explore)
Least favourite: Dragon Bash (Dragon Pinatas, fireworks, Dragon Effigies… That wasn’t too much fun)
1. Class balance for PVE
2. Living World: Less AP oriented and more focus on story, lore and immersion
3. Horizontal progression (skills/traits)
