Combat Mode, if you don’t already know what it is, is a script that works with Autohotkey that would make it so that a crosshair was put on the screen, your aim always follows your mouse, and left click was turned into attack 1, making the game control more like Tera and Dungeons and Dragons Online.
I never was able to try it out, but Anet has recently stated that using Combat Mode is NOT allowed, and I’m a little bummed out about it.
When I first heard about Guild Wars 2, I was under the impression that the combat would function like Tera’s or DDO’s. I was worried when I found out that it wouldn’t be, but I’ve long since gotten used to (and love) GW2s actual combat system. It works extremely well, and is easy to use.
But, when I learned about Combat Mode, I was really excited to try it out, because I could definitely see Guild Wars 2, with its action packed and fast paced combat, benefiting greatly from it.
So, I’m a little disappointed that use of Combat Mode has been disallowed, but I’m really hoping that Anet has only said this because they’re making/already have made their own, official version of Combat Mode, that could be a toggleable option for those that want it, since Combat Mode would do nothing but improve upon Guild Wars 2’s already stellar mechanics.
