Separate balance between modes

It worked really well in GW1 imo, and it definitely wasn’t too difficult to understand for players. Every time you enter a PvP-related map in GW1 you get a chat log message telling you you’re in PvP and the skills that have changed for PvP have (PvP) in their skill name when you’re in a PvP area.

I’m sure there can be even more ways to remind people that the skills are split. But I agree, the lack of a split doesn’t make a more coherent game: it creates a situation where devs are trying to balance the issues in two or more game modes at once. If anything, instead of coherency, this creates conflict or mediocrity.

PVE not competitive enough.

regardless of whether you were serious or not: the very point of PvE is that it is not competitive. And that it doesn’t leave people behind. The philosophy you’re espousing, OP, is pretty much just “why can’t I be better than other people” which is egotistical and very boring. We have PvP, WvW, and other video games for trying to prove who’s “the best”.

Think Tank- VIP Subscription

the concept of any sort of subscription or VIP access is interesting. Putting aside the fact that ANet won’t do this, let’s think about the possible benefits.

First of all: why? I suppose you can say it’s to fund ANet’s development. But they don’t need funding. Currently, Anet is supporting themselves the following ways:
- The Gem Store
- Current and future expansions

In addition to licensed merchandise which probably gives them some money but idk for sure.

So we’ve established that Anet doesn’t really need extra money. What’s the purpose of a VIP or a Sub? Taking the focus off of Anet we look at the player. People are looking for more ways to spend their money because they like Anet and wanna get added benefits.

On the surface I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the concept of added benefits but what this boils down to is people wanting added benefits purely for the sake of it. If these benefits allow the player to have better access to the game — i.e. through no waypoint costs or through a character slot or black lion keys — then they have an advantage over players who don’t have VIP or Sub access. Obviously that’s kinda the point, but people who spend irl money on the Gem Store already get a lot of these benefits. What would be the point of having a separate system? To streamline the experience?

(And yeah Anet won’t do this kinda thing they’ve been saying it for about 11 years. Just cause they added ascended — a tier of gear that was planned before release — doesn’t mean their words suddenly mean whatever you want them to mean.)

The Searing

KILL ALL CHARR
THEY CAN’T BE TRUSTED
REMEMBER THE SEARING…NEVER FORGET

Plus we need to stop the spread of mange and fleas.

Remember when humans turned to a bunch of murderous ‘unseen ones’ to fight the charr? Or remember when a human vizier sunk an entire peninsula? Or maybe when humans in cantha worked to cull tengu? Or when a human attempted to open a rift into the Mists to bring about the return of one of their mysterious and violent gods? Or when a human opened different (and earlier) portals to the Mists to start the incursion of the titans?

idk seems like humans are a much bigger danger overall. It’s true that invading a region and killing its people is pretty bad and shouldn’t be celebrated but humans aren’t even close to saints.

Also humans aren’t even from Tyria. They’re from the Mists! Who invited them anyway?

What is that Vine doing to the WP!
