If you’re looking for something to cut, I’d say Mystic Forge Stones. If you use the Forge quite a bit, they end up being very useful items and having them hide away in Mat. Storage would be the only thing on the list that would make my life more difficult.
Since we are mixing servers on a single team anyway the identity is already muddled. New names aren’t going to help.
Why not just go with the above nameplate option? “Red has captured [x]” “Blue has captured [Y]”… Similar naming works fine in Edge of the Mists and it simplifies having to figure out naming going forward if new server worlds are added.
If we need to figure out which servers we are linked to, that information can still be in the WvW dialog window.
I am also concerned about the removal of the Soldiers amulet. I play non-meta characters and builds as a casual player. Soldiers has been necessary for survivability.
With all the other changes that are happening with the upcoming patch, the removal of amulets seems to be a bit hasty. Keeping them and seeing how the meta changes due to the buffs and nerfs that are incoming would be a more prudent course and if things don’t change, then remove them before the next league.
I have only started getting this issue after Windows 10 installed the November update patch. (A couple hours ago)
I have done a clean re-install of the Nvidia drivers and it didn’t help. I have run a -repair on the GW2 Dat file and that didn’t help either. Changing from 64bit client to 32bit has no effect.
Disabling Vsync in the client is the only workaround for this issue. This is not an optimal work around as windowed fullscreen gives me about 15-20 less fps and the page tearing in fullscreen is abysmal.
I notice that the scene fully loads in -maploadinfo but it appears when switching to the 3d graphics from the 2d loading screen the client just hangs.
EDIT: POSSIBLE FIX: Changing the 64 bit client’s compatibility to “Windows 7” seems to have fixed the issue for me. I can have V-Sync on and I bounced to several different maps just to be sure. I’ve even closed and relaunched the client a couple times to be sure it wasn’t a fluke. BTW I also have the client set to “Run as Administrator” just in case.
EDIT2: Just for kittens and giggles I decided to try this fix on the 32bit client and it works there too.

My biggest issue was the redundancy between the voiceover and text. Canach was the perfect example. “Here’s my dialogue. It is long and now you can get specifics from me when my interact goes to text”
Text: Here’s my dialogue yet again. It’s long and only slightly changed in text form so that you have to read what I just said.
Almost every time a character talked then had me read text it seemed to be this same way.
I suggest doing for gold to gems what you did for gems to gold: have the buttons be the same showing 1 gem, 5 gem 10 gem, 50 gem, 100 gem, 250 gem and their prices. This is actually WAY less confusing for the new players (you scapegoat so often) as they can easily get any denomination they need. A player may need to push a button a couple times to get larger denomination items (700-1600 priced) but now they do not end up with any rounding.
Gaile, Here’s a suggestion for the Gemshop that would also be beneficial to the community: Buy with gold option in the gem shop.
This way you cut out the middle man when it comes to getting skins, upgrades, consumables from the Gemshop. Use the current gold to gems rate and put a button next to the gem price to buy instantly with gold. If a player purchases a gem card or wants to speculate on gems to gold, then they can still buy the gems/gemcards and use them as a currency to buy from the shop. If a player doesn’t want to go through the entire process of converting gold to gems, then gems to the item they want, then they can buy with gold directly. It’s still the gold sink you wanted and there’s nothing stopping the gold purchases still counting against the gem conversion rate so there’s no crash in the gem market.
Actually I think the real question now is does anybody still have the Cultivated Seed after the patch? Did all of them get changed or are we a minority…
Completed the Exotic Backpack the night before the patch. Woke up today and after the patch my Cultivated Seed, which was waiting patiently in my inventory to continue it’s journey in progression, was replaced with the usurper Pet Seed.
Looks like someone forgot to carry the 1 in the item database during the patch and everyone who had completed their backpiece has now been borked.
A simple failure mechanic is turret/battery life. If all 6 turrets die at any point, then the event fails. If all 3 batteries die, the event fails. It keeps with anet’s want to add more dynamics to events while not penalizing the userbase for not have 120 people in teamspeak…
The real question here is simple: “Does anyone have this achievement unlocked?” Anyone at all? If so, then we’re the broken few. If no one has it then it’s a flaw with the entire game itself…
The player visibilty options should be implemented in PvE ASAP so that we can actually fight in Meta events. That way we can regulate how many players we wish to see without messing with the NPC/Enemies on screen.
Sad part is, knowing Anet’s love of greatswords, this completely unnecessary sword will probably be made before any other new Legendaries…
On the subject of perma-stow of pets, there are areas that pets NEED to be stowed-specifically Jumping Puzzles. They’re a distraction, block camera and just plain useless when jumping from ledge to ledge. The second I stub my toe falling 2 inches BAM! I got a bear in my face again. Hit a spike and suddenly there’s a Moa giving the walls an angry look…
If nothing else, how about making pets not reappear when taking falling/environmental damage. Hell, how about not putting ME into combat when I take falling damage – but i digress… Making it so that Pets only reappear when taking damage that’s not environmental [falling/spikes/etc] will solve the perma-stow problem, for me at least.
I like the Lightbringer idea. The more mobs you slay per path the more loot you get at the end with bonuses for bosses/vets/champs. A perfect path clear nets a bonus. This is tallied and the end chest adjusts your tokens at that time. The boss chests on the way have a chance for good [Green or better] loot/money but no tokens.
Now you want to wipe an entire dungeon path for the maximum points. You’ll still have those who want loot speed clears but they’re not getting half of what they could if they invested time and energy on a full clear. This also makes the devs unable to use the “boss/zone/portal/machine spawns infinite adds just to make this area hard” way out as we the player will just kite that area for more loot at the end.
Instead of removing the keys, how about fixing BLT Chests? I have over 200 of the things and, sorry Anet, you’ve yet to put anything in them with a drop rate worthy of me risking my money.
This awesome except for one aspect: the one time only per the life of an account part. High profile characters like guild leaders and commanders are targets for hackers and no matter the amount of security they are more than likely to be hacked as new exploits arise.
For instance, say I was hacked tomorrow and got my account back. According to current policy, in 2 years if I get hacked again, then I’m SOL. That’s rather scary. Personally, if I was ever hacked and got my account back, I’d be so stressed about getting hacked again and never getting my stuff back that it would ruin my enjoyment of the game for the rest of the game’s life.
I understand this is a service that you really don’t HAVE to employ and that the one time only is to prevent exploiting of the system but some flexibility is required. Kitten happens and Anet needs to be proactive about it.
Might I recommend a time limit of say once per year and only within 30-90 days of posting a ticket. That way you can help the unfortunate and prevent abuse of the system. The 30-90 day limit would prevent someone from waiting 10 months to post a ticket about a hacked account.
In LA when attempting to enter the Jumping puzzle by sliding down the “throat” I now always seem to hit an invisible instant death ledge/wall before I hit the water. Every. Fricken. Time.
I have attempted this with sylvari, human, norn and asura and character size doesn’t matter. I’ve attempted sliding on one side another or straight down the middle – still dead. It seems that when the Mad King arrived, he booby trapped the puzzle.
Anyone else getting this?
If necessary, I’ll boot up fraps and make a movie of my deaths…
Flesh Golum:
Changed Skill to summon an Undead Minstrel. Summon still doesn’t attack or do anything but now has increased annoyance by being able to sing off key.
Lich Form
Changed utility to instantly kill the Necromancer as to reduce the time taken by other players in targeting and killing the Necro.
Feast of Corruption
Enhanced visual effects. Now along with giant green teeth biting the target, a giant pulsating bullseye appears over the Necromancer’s head just in case a player in the area didn’t see the teeth graphic appear.
Underwater Combat
Removed all utility skills from being used underwater as this was unintended. Necromancers underwater weapons have been removed to balance this. Necromancers now have only the “kitten slap” unarmed skill which causes enemies to gain fury, might and quickness to kill the Necromancer underwater faster.

I felt sorry for him. All he wants is to be loved. No one loves an elder dragon so he ends up thinking that maybe if it looks like he has friends, and is popular, then maybe people will like him. He brings back a city, all the people that died and all the races of Tyria still hate him. In the end they all gang up on him and as he’s crying and hugging a building, you shoot him over and over again. Have you ever thought that all he needed was some simple caring and maybe he’d save you a little bit of gold on your carriage and airship insurance? No. You never thought that at all… Shame on you.
Idea number 3 would be pretty easy to be a quick spamable ban like Dhuum’s. Portal opens next to bot, Thorn walks out drags them in, 3 feet to the left another portal spawns, Thorn grabs the next bot, rinse, repeat.
Was thinking, it’d be even cooler to have Thorn grab their souls from their bodies, making the bot’s limp corpse ragdoll to the ground… That way after a period of time the ground is littered with the remains of the bot army as you stand over it admiring the Mad King’s handiwork. Sure it’d lag the server for a while but it’d be so sweet to see and the corpses would despawn after a short period anyway.
We all know that bots are gonna get banned sooner or later. Historically, Anet has come up with creative ways to ban in the past. Dhuum appearing and slaying bots was so much fun to watch that I was disappointed that botters gave up.
So I have a few creative suggestions for the new bot banning in Guildwars 2.
1. A KT29-Moahawk helicopter flies overhead, and down drop A.R.E.N.A. Commandos. As the choppa flies off the Commandos, either subdue or slay the bot and in a puff of a smoke bomb, disappear along with the bot’s body. Alternately, in towns or caves where the Moahawk could not be used, the A.R.E.N.A Commandos could warp in a la Terminator in a sphere of energy and leave the same way.
2. You’re in a zone and notice a bot teleporting around. Slowly an off key voice singing acapella starts to get louder. Suddenly in a puff of musical notes a Minstrel appears next to the bot. Bound by musical chains, the bot is unable to flee as the minstrel’s song increases to a crescendo. At it’s peak the bot’s head explodes and both the bot and the Minstrel disappear in a puff of musical notes. The eerie silence left behind would be the best part.
EDIT: Though I’d love to see the head explode Anet probably won’t do that so instead how about he hits the bot over the head with his mandolin before dissappearing.
3. This ban would happen only during night time. The moon grows larger and a familiar face appears on it. A cackling reverberates through the zone. Next to the bot, suddenly out of a black abyss walks Mad King Thorn . He grabs the bot by the head, laughs and drags it back into the portal from which he came.
If anyone has alternate ideas on how bots should be banned let’s post them and get Anet’s attention that we don’t just want them gone, we want it to be memorable!
