You aren’t the only one. Especially in the big LA events lately during prime times, server-side lag has been insane. I say server-side having tested my net speed even during lagging events and seeing 28 Mbps down, 6 Mbps up. I have also tried routing the port through the http port which was recommended online for avoiding ISP throttling and saw no change. My PC is easily able to run the game on max settings even during the battles and the lag persists at minimum settings. This has made certain achievements all but impossible and the big fights frustrating, whether it is the servers or the networks that are overloaded. As far as location goes, I’m within an hour’s drive from the servers.

The issue may have started from the maintenance work last night. The first time I crashed out was immediately after finding that the login server was working again and getting back online.

Usually the game seems to start lagging strangely during the first fight on the beach. After that, it just keeps getting worse until it kicks me back to the character select screen.

I can confirm this bug and that it has been going on for long enough I’m not sure if it appeared or if it was always there. I hadn’t really looked at it doing anything regular, but it seems to me that my swaps in combat are full length maybe up to 40% of the time. I definitely get a timed swap shortly out of combat, although having mainly played this char, I hadn’t realized that it was a bug until now.
