Hey there GW2Forums,

I come to you today to ask a question about which type of build to go after. I cant decide if i want to follow Dontain’s suggested ‘Tanky DPS’ build in this link:

http://youtu.be/cv2ux0GpejM

Or if a Berserker style build would be better. Dontain’s video is somewhat old, and im not sure if ANet has changed enough to make it ineffective. This character is my main (and basically my only character so far). I use the Warrior mainly for dungeons/WvW/PvE.

Is Dontain’s build still effective? Ive been running Berserker stats/gear (30/0/30/20/0). Not the best idea but im a newb oh well) since day one but am getting tired of getting downed constantly, not able to take hits, and cant support the team at all.

Would Dontain’s build (which i consider a tanky knight) make me less effective than a Berserker and therefore less desirable? Does anyone else run a similar build, and if so, whats your experience? Im trying to decide before i drop a lot of Karma on Dontain’s armour suggestions….

Peace,
E

Fixed the issue! Turns out my player was at the smallest end of the human spectrum. I bought a remodel kit for 350G and changed it to max human height/bigger physique. Now he looks more normal lol

Having the “little” body is useful for jumping puzzles or certain close-in encounters, because the Norn (and Charr) cameras can get a bit messy if you happen to be in an area with a low ceiling. The other note is that Norn characters look like they’re running in slow motion to some unless they have a speed boost, so that may distract you as well. Assuming you only have that one character, I recommend trying a Norn guardian and play around with that for a bit to see if you’ll get any remorse for choosing Norn – you’ll have access to all the same armour and all weapons except axe, rifle, and bow.

The armor visuals is always a personal preference thing that I won’t even try to discuss.

This is what ill end up doing. Ive been doing some reading and a large target for a tanky Guardian character wouldnt be such a bad idea. Ill just make it an addition to my Human warrior.

I tried out a Warrior Norn and it definitely wasnt enough of a difference to make me switch.

Hey there GW2 Forums,

This is my first post on the forums, and more than likely will be viewed as being ridiculous. BUT it is something that is really annoying me so i wanted to ask anyways!

So i pre-ordered the game and then quit for a while, and now im back (as of two weeks ago). In these past two weeks i created a human warrior class and ive trained him all the way to lvl60! I know i want to be a heavy armour guy, so i decided that it would be a good race/class to start out with. However,

Im starting to regret going with a human for these reasons (mainly aesthetic):
-the humans are pretty tiny compared to norn/charr
-the armour and weapons dont look ‘menacing’ or ‘intimidating’
-the humans attack animations are not as sweet as the norns

Im starting to think that i should create a Norn Warrior and start out all over again (ugh, grind) simply because almost ALL of the lvl80 Warriors i find are Norn and they all look awesome compared to the humans…

So, forums, what is your take? Do Norns really look the part better for a warrior? Or should i just get over it and keep on with the Humans? Are there any bonus stats that should make me prefer either one? What would you do?

-E
