Showing Posts For The Switch.7806:
I know I am years behind in line, but I wanted to add my name to the request list. Your art is absolutely insane! I’ve been showing co-workers, friends, family, strangers, basically anyone who will listen and look!
Due to being a new dad right around the launch of the game, I am so far behind in leveling, gear acquisition, and all around progress. So I took some screens of my lady in her bare essentials. I’ll post a few more screens of the gear I’m working toward (…yeah, like a new baby will let me have enough time to get it…)
Some information about her: Her name is Kiera Domino. I’ve been through a lot with her and her GW1 ancestor. She comes from a long line of Mesmers. She’s a hardcore Illusionist that uses her skill rather than her power to dominate her enemies. She’s soft, loving, and kind to those who get to know her, but can hold her own in the midst of chaos. Her staff is her closest ally.
Hopefully you’ll see in her what I do. I’ll post some more screens as I can get them as it will be some time before you get to my name in line. Thank you for considering drawing her!
im guessing you did not have time to edit xD, so i drew the images there where already
hope you like it anyways!
You guessed right. Life happened to me in a big way not long after I posted my screens. She’s beautiful. Thanks for your hard work and incredible talent. Where might I go to do some commissions? I’d love to maybe invest in some more. Your talent is worth the money!

Actually, question: when leveling up with the build in your #3 video, what order would you grab traits in? To me it looks like Illusion > Chaos > Domination in general, but with a little bit of back-and-forth…
+1. I had the same question
Well thanks for the input thus far. As with most things I’ve been reading, it gives me a lot to chew on.
I’m come to really enjoy playing a staff/GS weapon set, which sounds like it may fall more into a hybrid sort of build than a pure condition damage build. Is that the case? The staff can help pump out conditions while the GS can provide some extra damage. Or am I off in the assesment?
As to the triats, I’m trying not to get too overwhelmed with where to place things. Is the best way to just trial and error? Since I’m only level 30, how could I play around with the top tier traits? Taking Mr. Promethuos’ build (which i know he said use more as a guide than a hard rule), he goes 20/0/30/0/20, I can already see how I could adjust that for a GS build…but I see benefits from SI on Dueling. Lots to learn still!
As a side note, I tend to find myself never using shatters…or rarely I guess. Maybe this is a huge flaw in my play style, but if that helps with suggests toward traits, there you go.
Taking a look at armor and weapons and a condition build. Is there a general rule of thumb which way one should head? I know the Rune of the Undead (or sigil?) for armor sets sounds pretty good. Are orbs better? Are there specific armor sets to be bought or crafted that would be ideal for this type of build? Same for weapons?
I know its probably too many questions, but I’m trying to glean as much as i can from as many players as I can. Sooner or later I’ll just have to go for it, but the more I can learn now, the better off I’ll be. Thanks again!

I have been studying the Mesmer lately, trying to be more intentional with how I play, and attempting to get the most out of my gaming experience. After a lot of reading, listening, watching, etc…, I think i’m finally starting to figure things out.
Taking some advice from Mr. Prometheus’ wonderful videos, i’m trying to develop a build (or at least one of a few different playing styles) based on a theme.
So my questions are: is a condition damage build a viable option for a Mesmer to play? Is there enough to work with to make this work for a solo PvE build? Would it be a waste of time? Maybe i’m getting ahead of myself, but if it would work, what would be a good direction to head as far as armor, sessions, runes, sigils, etc…
I’m creating this post on my phone, so I’ll wait to post more of my thoughts that led me to this point. I just like the way condition damage stacks and the possibilities it may bring. Thoughts?
first, i loved your video!….
but i have a question…
i always die at the “leap of faith” because the platform i’m suppose to land on (that you showed in your video) is covered in the “green goo” already.
is that because i’m getting to the leap of faith “too late”, like.. i’m taking too long to get there? Like does it mean i did the earlier parts of the puzzle “too slow”?
Or… am i suppose to wait a long time and eventually the “green goo” will go away? and stop covering that platform??
It means you’re taking too long to get there. If there is already goo it’s too late. You really do have to hurry to that point. If you make it beyond that, at let in my experience, you can slow down slightly and really be intentional on the last ten jumps or so.
Handful of greens, 10 slot tot bag, 2 UN-id dyes, and a life time of memories.
So I’ve been reading about every post I can find and none of them seem to answer my question. How does one go about filling up the Halloween Event achievement? What events is it counting? Where are they located? Nothing I do seems to move that bar forward. Any help would be extremely appreciated!
From the moment I first interacted with GW1 I have had some sort of strange obsession with and draw toward the Mesmer profession. I guess caster classes have always been appealing to me; but why not go with a monk or elementalist instead? The Mesmer has just always had something more to it. So, when GW2 launched I obviously knew which class I’d begin with.
Here is the struggle though: for all my love and adoration of the profession, I don’t feel as if I have ever adequately understood how to play them and play them well. I have been trying to do my best in reading posts, builds, discussions, etc… lately, but after many, it starts to blend together and becomes useless.
I would describe myself as an individual who loves to play games, but not someone who tends to inherently understand the finer details of said games. I have a full time job, am married, and recently added a baby boy to the family as well. Needless to say, my free time is limited, and what time I do find to play I rather not spend being frustrated my build is inefficient and worthless. I typically end up (if GW1 is any indication) waltzing around with some build I know is laughable, but not knowing the first step to take to dramatically improve it for the better.
My hope in making this post is that someone might identify with my struggle, or at least have some pity, and be willing to lend some training and/or direction for a lost Mesmer sole such as myself. I play basically 100% PvE if that helps narrow down any suggestions. I am also currently only a level 26, so even if you can’t provide me with much, suggestions on how to level (art least to this magic Mesmer level 40 I seem to keep reading about) would be great.
Ultimately I just want to better understand this mysterious class I’ve been drawn to for so long. So, to anyone who might take the time to respond to this, thank you!
Dang you dial-up…beep beep beep bop beep
double post…mine just went through. Have faith, the Mad King will still be there for you in ten minutes
Thousands of us just tried to update…go figure
I’m running into the exact same issues that everyone here has been talking about, except I feel like my FPS seems to be even more extreme than most. I’ve been able to hit a MAX of probably 5-7 FPS no matter what zone I’m in. It’s made the game unplayable. I was able to run the first open beta fine, the second a little, and the third not at all. I even doubled my ram today hoping that would help. I’m not the most tech savy, so maybe I’m missing something, but I’d sure love to be able to play the game I paid $70.
