So my week just keeps getting worse. Found out my password was changed, got that fixed, learned someone attached an unauthorized authenticator to the account, got that removed, added my own for good measure, logged on and saw all my characters were deleted, and then opened a ticket to see if I could get them restored (I’m sad to say I don’t remember the ticket number).
I thought it was odd I hadn’t heard anything from the support team, so I started digging around my email address. Come to find out, not only was my GW2 account compromised, but so was my email account. Whomever hacked me added the support email address to the blocked list, so that’s why I wasn’t getting any emails.
So I guess my next step is changing my address for my account and asking about the status of the account restoration?
I have scanned the drive with Malwarebytes and Avast, and then for good measure plucked the drive out and scanned it on another machine. All three scans came back clean.
