that i really, really like this game. It does so many things right, and is just so fun. We have all played the other MMOs on the market. Guild Wars to me is a liberation from the genera.

Can you transmute a transmute?

So I picked the durmond priory faction without realizing how much i liked a different armor set from another faction. If a secondary character were to get that armor, transmute it to an item, trade the item to my main, would i then be able to transmute that look onto another item? Thanks for the help.

Will infusion slots kill runes/sigils/gems?

Regardless of the exact amount of power creep, the point is that ascended gear is the new tier to have, and that it does not account for upgrades.

I am both a tailor and a jeweler, and assumed that the upgrade components granted by these professions would not become obsolete. If each piece of new ascended gear contains an infusion slot rather than an upgrade slot, it seems that this will become the case. Also, many rune and sigil combinations have rather distinctive effects, thus creating much more build diversity than a few pluses to stats can accomplish. Perhaps they will add infusions to these professions in the future to rectify this problem. In any case, what are your thoughts?

[WvW] Critmancer Build (Power + Condition)

Hello, I am new to the game and have found necromancer to be the most fun and dynamic class. Your build seems very fun to play, but i do not quite understand the nuances of it. Does power add to damage of bleeds, or will only plus to condition damage do so? Also, I believe i read somewhere that bleeds cannot crit, so I am wondering why you put an emphasis on what seems to be two contradicting play styles. Is the power and crit mainly just for death shroud spamming once the dots are up? Thank you for your help.

After playing some pvp I once again feel like I am playing Dota, not an MMO. I guess that might be okay though…

Im fooling around with an elementalist now and it does seem a good bit more interesting. I guess i was just wondering why all the professions were not set up this way. Having 4 abilities is great for dota, but in dota there are just so many other things going on aside from combat. It was just a strange feeling fooling around on my level 10 thief and feeling as if I already understood my “rotation”, and that it would not become more complicated aside from a couple utilities for the remainder of the game.

So i just got a hold of this game after taking a long break from MMO’s. I have been having fun playing around with a couple of classes, but the thing which has me quite puzzled is the seeming lack of options for my character. I do not mean build options, but options to actually do within combat. I get what, 5 regularly usable abilities, 1 of which is an auto attack?

I understand that the utility abilities are there, but each of those has like a 30 second or higher CD so those are more blow them when you have them rather than reliably engaging options. At first this did not bother me, as I assumed the weapon swap would at least give me another chunk of abilities, but upon unlocking it I realized that it had a substantial cooldown. Within the average fight I can only swap once or twice, so it feels like a swap, blow cooldowns, swap, blow cooldowns engagement rather than anything highly interactive. Am I missing something? Is all I have to look forward to for the next 70 levels are a couple of utility slots? This game was marketed as the “PVP Esport”, but to me it seems rather hollow at the moment. Thanks for any advice or suggestions.
