Guild Wars 2

Most of you veteran players out there most probably know about this place already, but for someone like me who hadn’t played as an Order of Whispers character before, this place was amazing. Finding and entering this hidden base really make you feel part of an undercover community of spies and agents. Well done Arenanet!

So I made a little walkthrough guide. I missed it last time I explored it in my playthrough (*shame) so I thought I’d make amends by making this.

If you’re relatively new to the game or just haven’t played as an OoW member before, check it out, I think you’ll find it intriguing

Howdy folks! Another lore centered tour of the capitals of Tyria is out, this time, Lion’s Arch!

It’s basically a video of me running around on my charr thief Subtlenose, speaking to every NPC I can find and talking about the lore and history of the former capital of Kryta as we go along. Waaaay way back I did one of The Black Citadel and people seemed to like that so here’s the next one.

Caution: it is a lengthy video… and it will include SPOILERS of the book Sea of Sorrows. Boom.

Yay I’ve made a video! You can barely contain yourself, I’m sure. This is for the people who, like me, when first playing through the personal story, didn’t have any idea who these characters in Destiny’s Edge were. So this is – or I hope that it is – a fairly succinct summary of the novel Edge of Destiny in which we learn about how Destiny’s Edge formed in the first place and the backstories of the different characters. It’s part of my current lore-based playthrough of the personal story – I’m just about to meet these people in Lion’s Arch… anyway, hope you enjoy! Any feedback is welcome as I am a complete nub to this type of content-creation-thingie

BTW: I want to stress that I obviously don’t own any of this, and if Arenanet or NCSoft feel that I have violated any copyright agreements or whatever, I’ll obviously take down the video. Hopefully it’s fine since everything in this video can be found on the wikis anyway… fingers crossed.

So I’m a tiny Youtuber who’s really interested the lore and world of Guild Wars. I’m also a huge fan of the books accompanying the games, and I would like to share my enthusiasm by making a video for people who haven’t read the books but still want to get the (almost) full story.

To keep it short: is it ok for me to make a video basically spoiling the whole book Edge of Destiny? I’m thinking in terms of copyright and stuff?

If anyone from Anet sees this I would be thrilled by a response

So I’ve finally managed to record, edit and upload this monster of a video! It’s part of my ongoing lore playthrough of the game in which I run around and speak to as many NPCs as I find, trying to get as immersed in the wonderful world of GW2 as I can (while leveling up my Charr thief Subtlenose). You actually learn A TON of lore from just running around these major cities. Do have a watch if you’re interested!

As the title suggests, my lore and story focused playthrough of the game on my Charr Thief Subtlenose has come to me going to either Gendarran Fields or Lornar’s Pass. I just lvled 25 and finished Diessa Plateau. Which of these two areas do you lore people think would be more interesting? I’m thinking perhaps Lornar’s because of connections to GW1?

This is good advice. While I don’t have a firm release date to share just yet, I do recommend that you wait until the Personal Story is restored (with minor improvements) before playing into chapter 6.

I’ll be making a post in the next couple of weeks that will give more details on what changes the update will include.

Do I understand this right: Do you refer to the story part depending on your “greatest fear”? Will these story missions (which are depending on the answer during “A Light in the Darkness” and originally taken a big portion in the part 7 of the personal story and are currently not accessable) be playable again in the near future?

Yes. We’re restoring the My Greatest Fear story steps, restoring chapter 8 to its original order, and improving a few things along the way. I’ll be making an official forum post with more details soon.

So excited for this. I’ve been revisiting a lot of the lore from launch in preparation for the expansion but all my characters stop the Personal Story at Claw Island because of the MIA chapters. I want a comprehensive and cohesive run through so I don’t miss anything.

Still, there is plenty of juicy stuff that’s intact in the sylvari early Personal Story (would be awesome if we could access this stuff without creating a new character) and I’ve been doing a playthrough of Prophecies, Eye of the North, War in Kryta, the BMP and the books to refresh my memory on pre-GW2 plot threads I want to see in Maguuma (I’m more excited to see Livia than anything else, it really felt like she was set up to be important in GW2 and we didn’t hear from her at all in GW2 – unless she is Anise).

I really hope HoT draws heavily from GW1, if Season 2 is anything to go by it will.

@ OP There is plenty of story content still intact for a let’s play, I don’t think anything before Claw Island is broken or missing so you should be fine for a while. If you want to make it relevant to the current plots in Season 2 and the expansion, there is quite a lot of dungeon and open world stuff you can look into, maybe even highlight some GW1 plots relating to Glint, Mursaat, Ventari or Maguuma.

I’m planning on doing all the dungeons focusing ofc on lore and I’m reading the books as we speak so that I can hopefully follow up on some interesting plots there. Could you give examples of the open world stuff you mentioned? And thanks for the feedback!
