To get the mercenary title you require 48500 rank points earned. To reach level 20 you need 54000 (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/PvP_Rank). One would think that character select would show the icon for the rank you are.

I am currently rank 20 in spvp which is the dolyak ranking. But when I get to character select it still shows the deer icon. This may be due to the fact that the bonus rank points you get from tournament wins are not being put towards the title progress bar. Is this intentional?
