@ Ruith I totally understand. Rest assured that your account will be looked at and decided upon. If you have already waited for three days and nobody has responded to your ticket there’s a stickied post at the top of the “Account Issue” board that allow you to post your ticket number. This will help A LOT if you wait past the three day mark.

After four to five days of submitting a support ticket and waiting patiently, my account was finally restored and brought up to speed. At first I was rather upset and disappointed but after coming here to the forums and seeing that I wasn’t the only one with the “banned because of botting and macro problem” I started to feel a little more comfort and ease.
I came to the forums each day, but I never lost hope. I read other players problems and complaints and with each post I read, I felt the less need to really complain and feel bad.
I just want to say PLEASE?BE PATIENT everyone! I know that you all think it is absurd and ridiculous that you have suddenly been banned for something you believe is outrageous, and I feel that the majority of people are probably very innocent. The thing is, Guild wars 2 and their team are just taking extra cautionary measures to assure their loyal players that they are not swindled and cheated or receive unfair treatment from any malicious or corrupt players / RMTers/ Gold farmers etc.
These people work very hard to serve you! There is really no need to get so upset and so angry about a few hours or even days of lost playing time. It’s not the end of the world. No need to curse them out or compare them to other companies. I think getting angry and calling them out for their extra cautious measures without researching and understanding what you must do when this situation arises is not the key. Simply log in to support, submit a ticket, and sit back and wait. Surely you can find something to preoccupy your time for a while? There was an age when video games didn’t exist after all.
Anyway, I don’t want to rant on any further. I just want to thank the support team once again, and sincerely thank Gaile Gray and any other moderator who has had to deal with and put up with our complaints, questions, inquiries and other messages here on the boards. Gaile responds very quickly and even to the most poorly written posts on the forums with good and assuring answers. I thank you Gaile for doing your job and honoring the playerbase. Please keep up the good work!
I’ll see you all in game! Toodles ~

Day four, and still no response. But I trust they are trying to do everything in their power to help us all.
Has anyone tried making another account? I’m assuming just the account is blocked / banned, but not the actual Serial code. I would just recommend that if you are banned forever due to a third party use, that you perhaps search your computer or whatever you are using, make sure there is no questionable programs, and start again (well, if you really love the game. . that’s what I intend to do, but I highly doubt I’ll be permanently removed because I don’t have any third party programs affecting the game, so just be patient and wait for the account to be restored!).
I just want to get the crazy Vigil armor and paint it green.

ID Ticket: 121106-000204
I submitted a ticket three days ago on Nov. 5th and it is now Nov. 8th (Three days).
I live in Taiwan, Republic of China. I admit to using multiple IP addresses to connect to Guild Wars 2, but they were in no way attacks on my own account. The internet and bandwidth where I live is pretty poor, and there are multiple public connections that are deemed free (Taipei, Taiwan has free public internet services in certain locations as of earlier this year) and have thus connected and authorized with various IP. I have used at least four or five different connections to play. I do also plan to upgrade my internet as soon as possible after talking with my landlord and other roommates.
In any case, I received the typical error most people here have seen. That I am accused of botting, circumventing idle-play time, using macros, etc. I have done no such thing. I have made only one friend since this ordeal, and have not yet joined a guild but I was seriously considering to do so after playing WvW? I do not waste time in long AFK sessions, but I do disconnect quite frequently as some connections I use seem to time out every 20 – 30 minutes. I have not cursed anyone out, nor have I manipulated any known exploit of any sort.
I did post duplicate tickets before reading the ticket rules, and I apologize for that. I posted multiple tickets because the original two contained no information (It must have been deleted while being sent over the internet? I’m not sure, there’s no information on those tickets.) Anyways, my duplicated tickets were in no way a means of being impatient or anger. They were merely re-posts of what had failed to be originally posted.
Thank you. We are all expecting the best and hope to come back and play this wonderful game as soon as possible!

I’m not really sure how they deal with it, but I think having an appropriate topic when you submit your support ticket must help. I’m on day three now, but others have had there problems fixed faster.
Anyways, don’t give up hope.

@rohff I really don’t think we’d be banned for going AFK for some time and assumed we were blamed for botting. If they really didn’t like AFKers, they could just auto-kick players who are afk for a given amount of time…
I think they must have a very big problem or good explanation, that simply needs fixing.

@Jimmy
Well, they do reserve the right to ban and remove accounts if you did break any of the codes of conduct, but I’m pretty sure if you’ll submit the ticket and wait patiently, they’ll deal with it. A lot of us are also in the same boat, and as frustrating as it is, the only thing we can really do is be patient and wait, and not give up.

Farming isn’t illegal is it? That wouldn’t make sense to me. How else will you get all that crafting gear for armor , weapon crafting ETC?
I continue to check the site and post on the forums here, because I have faith that AreaNet is just having some difficulties at the moment and they’re not truly out to make us have a bad time. . .

I don’t expect any compensation, for I believe there may be just some honest mistake or some mix up with ArenaNet. I just hope they can solve these problems as it is OBVIOUSLY not a small ordeal, as many people are posting up here on the forums.
Anyways, let’s just line up and wait. I’m on day two.

@ ziofanoo
Agreed. . . Work every day, have a few hours to play.
I’m at the one day mark too. Let’s hope these support teams work it all out.

Seems like the problem is rather widespread lately. Perhaps they’ve had another problem with unintentional bans? I do hope we can get back in ASAP!

Your Guild wars 2 account has been terminated due to botting, extended unattended play, using macros, or similar behavior. Attempting to automate gameplay through any means or attempting to circumvent idle-time restrictions in any way is a violation of the User Agreement Rules of Conduct. The account closure is permanent.
But I have never botted . used macros, automate gameplay through any means to avoid the “idle-time” restrictions… I mean.. i think i go afk to go to the bathroom for maybe two-three minutes tops, but that is about it. With my bad connection and having to switch IP’s arround, I often disconnect, so I suspect this was the biggest problem . . .
Hope it really isn’t permanently terminated. I feel anxious to play, but the only thing I can do now is be patient, wait, and read the forums… _

@ Zaken,
Yes. I submitted a ticket… but I’ve actually sent duplicated tickets because my original two tickets did not contain the content I had written up.. ((I had to re-write my explanation a few times )) _
I live in Taiwan, not Mainland China. All of my IP should have been connected from there. . . All I can do now is wait. Hope I can get back into the game, because it feels strange being banned only after playing for two weeks and.. well.. only trying to connect to the game to have fun … Haha.

I too have recently been banned. I think it may have something to do with using multiple internet IP / accounts. I live in Taiwan China (And I am NOT a GOLD FARMER) and recently bought the game only for it to have banned me after registering and approving three different IPs, one of which seemed to time out every thirty minutes or so. The only problem is, the bandwidth in my location on my router is quite poor, and there are many public wireless connections roaming about. . . so I tend to use others as well. . . I’m wondering if using multiple IP addresses is an issue, though I didn’t see it in any code of conducts?
Anyways, I too am just waiting to be unbanned now, and I just want to say thank you for making this post up here so I can read those who have had their problems solve. It’s always more comforting to know other players have also been found out and seen having problems which are soon solved. I really like Guild Wars 2, and feel it’s worth every dollar spent. . would be a shame to lose my account / character due to . . well, I am not even sure what is wrong. :S Seems rather random to me, but I am not so worried now thanks to the support here. So thank you.
