[NA] Veteran WvW Player/Comm LF WvW Guild

in Looking for...

Hello,
I am an adamant veteran of Guild Wars 2 particularly in the field of WvW. I have tried twice now to get a guild going on my original server [I used to be way down in T8 before change] and current server but both had a falling out. [This recent one due to the new WvW upgrades that we couldn`t keep up with in the T3 battles.] I have seen the worst and the best of times for servers and I`m trying to find a home.

What I`m looking for:
- Mature Guild.
- Competitive but not try-hard.
-Medium to Large in Roster size [I love being in groups and battling it out in the open field and in the midst of taking and capturing towers and keeps!]
-Somewhere I could “earn my keep” and build up my reputation and be able to command a group after people get to know me.
- I`m open to different Tiers [Won`t go below T 5 or T 6] but the Guild has to be active.
-Got to have TS3 or some sort of verbal communication device.

What I can bring:
-My skills I have learned over the years as a server commander in two varying degrees of Tier level.
-A level headed mind-set.
-Possibility of a couple buddies of mine to join with my same skill level.
- I am most active Friday & Saturday evenings. [I can be on around 7 or 8 o clock Pacific and be ready to go until midnight or later.]
-I am loyal to my Guild. [If I can`t make it for some reason to an event or guild WvW run, I will contact somebody as soon as I can and the only time I miss WvW on Friday & Saturday is if something comes up outside of the game that I can`t control.]

Respond here if you think I`ll fit in your guild and if possible give me some info about your Guild so that I may weigh in the choices and servers!

Air Ship Battles?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Hey all,
I was talking to a couple guild members about an idea that would be interesting to implement – Air Ship Battles!
What the idea is:
-Zeppelins battling in the sky with a pirate-esque feel to it. Cannons on either side, broadsides…etc.
-You can cripple and board enemy player ships or NPC ships patrolling the air and then battle each other on the decks of the ship! (This would help keep the odds even against different skills and play styles). The winners will receive the most loot and XP, while the defeated will get some XP and some loot.
-Ships can be crippled but un-boarded, the crippled ship would need to be taken in for repairs, while the attackers that won the battle will get some XP, but no loot. (This is to help implement strategy, while minimizing abuse/trolling).
-There could be approximate 3 to 4 ships. (the first being the “starter” ship, the last being the strongest and hardest to get). Players will need to build their first ship with in-game currency (such as karma or gold) and in-game materials (wood, iron, etc). To progress to the stronger ships, players would need higher-end materials and experience in sailing mastery, cannon mastery, and boarding mastery. (Boarding mastery would require winning in battles against players or NPCs on the decks of ships, More powerful cannon types and abilities will be unlocked as the players get higher in cannon mastery, sailing mastery would come from steering the ship, and sinking ships with broadsides, in combination with cannon and boarding mastery, hence sailing is the longer pool of XP to accumulate).
-There is a limit to capacity on the ships as far as crew goes (say: 20 players maximum on a level 4 ship). If there are ships with inadequate crews, then there will be a scaling implementation (like it WVW) to keep things balanced and fun.
-Players can buy ships with gems, but they need to be the appropriate XP level in the above listed masteries for each category of ship. (This is to keep pace with the different play styles of each GW2 player, and to minimize players buying out everything).
-Gems can be used to buy unique skins and sails (like guild sails, and say 3 unique skins designed by the devs for the hulls/appearance of the ship).
-This idea has been done before in other games obviously, but the GW2 devs could make this idea become and exciting and fun new addition to the game.

Experienced WvW Players Looking For A Server

Hello,
Our small but experienced guild is looking to start fresh and kick butt on a new server – and call it home.
We`re considering Silver League but are unsure where to start.
We`re seeking a friendly community that`s competitive but not elitist.
Our prime time of gaming is during the Friday night resets and on the weekends.
We`ve been playing WvW since GW2 launch and know how to havoc and defend and we have a few commanders experienced and new under our belts.
Any recommendations or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Can Guilds Transfer Servers?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Thank you all for the replies!
-Thank you for the link, it has given me a cost-estimate for the transfers and such.
-We are a WvW focused guild, we`ve been playing since the start and have literally “been there. done that.” in all the PvE aspects [excluding any up-coming living world]. When we aren`t helping other guild-mates for pve things, we WvW heavily and almost daily. Thus the reason transferring has come to mind, our current server isn`t very fun to be in for WvW.
Again thank you for the replies, should you have any more info or links I`ll gladly check them out.

Can Guilds Transfer Servers?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

This might be already a topic elsewhere but since the Spring WvW Tournament is long over now, I wanted to ask these questions:
1) Can guilds transfer and keep their current upgrades?
- I ask this because it can take a very long time for small guilds to get back up on their feet again.
2) How much [on average] are server transfers now?
-If a link could be provided on that – that would be great, as we never have transferred before.
3) With all of the new megaserver changes and updates, would this be a bad time to transfer?
-Any tips or links will be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!
