Most impressive was Holosmith. That will be my main for the expac. It’s like a Swiss Army knife. I don’t even care if the damage is nerfed a little, I love the versatility. Melee, ranged, AOE damage…it’s got it all.
Just below Holosmith, I’d say Spellbreaker is very good, as is Firebrand. Firebrand is more complex to play.
Just below these three would be Renegade. A fun specc, feels unfinished.
Next tier would be Mirage, Scourge, and Weaver. I never got into a rhythm with these.
Was underwhelmed with Soulbeast. Wasn’t fun to me.
Biggest disappointment…if only because I was looking to make it my main…was Deadeye. Compared with Holosmith, it’s a one trick pony. Ranged damage. Granted, it does that one trick very well. But it’s still one trick, and one trick only.
Came into the weekend expecting to make Deadeye my main. I leave the weekend as a future Holosmith.
Before the weekend began, I expected to make Deadeye my main for the expac. I played all the new elite speccs at least 30 minutes per.
I came away a Holosmith-to-be. It’s like a Swiss Army knife…something for every situation.
And it’s a lot of fun! I was grinning from ear-to-ear while playing…both in PVP and WvW.
Really looking forward to playing this again in the Crystal Desert…and beyond.
I’ll see you all out there!

My take on DE:
-A one trick pony. Ranged damage and that’s it. Compared with Holosmith, which has the total package…melee, ranged, aoe damage…and it falls far short.

It takes a really good laptop to play GW2 on. Even a mediocre desktop has an easier time with GW2 than most laptops.
