Ever since I updated my PC to Windows 10, Guild Wars 2 seems to be running a lot less smooth for me. Before updating I could easily reach a steady 60 fps with the frame limiter on (+- 100 without) but now it’s running at about 35 fps while doing close to nothing. Slightly bigger battles result in almost unplayable framerates.
I’m running a NVidia GTX 970 4GB.
I think adding such info would have quite a negative influence on the exploration in the game, similar to a different discussion about the mystic forge recipes and the possibility of having an API for retrieving them.

It works like a charm! Thank you for the quick fix
No worries! It’s easy to work around for now. Thank you for the quick update! (And for all the work on the API really, you guys are allowing us gamer/programmers to do such cool things with these API’s, I really appreciate it!)
The floors returned by the continents API seem to be inconsistent:
When requesting https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/continents/2, the object returned contains a floor array with the floor ID’s identical to how the v1 array would return them; numbers are skipped and they can be negative.
However when requesting https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/continents/2/floors a whole different array is returned that is in logical order. This is also the only one that can be used to get detailed info about floors in the v2 api.
This is the case with both continents.
Couldn’t help myself when I saw the cool old-looking effects in GW2 today.
This april fools joke is amazing! Thank you Anet! The tune when you die is amazing xD
It’s great to see what awesome things you guys have been making! Can’t wait to start using this. Keep up the great work
Thanks for the update! Your developer community appreciates it
So many people telling to “go recruit or transfer”, not seeing the problem. To me it seems like ArenaNet always saw World versus World as some kind of PvE/PvP mixture, placing living world events in there once in a while to make it more ‘interesting’ for the lovers of PvE, but I think WvW could be such an amazing competitive gamemode if ArenaNet actually cared. Maybe WvW turned out differently than they hoped and they don’t feel like spending time on it anymore, but if so, please tell so the people who are eager to help improve this gamemode can stop caring as well. I think the core of the problem really is the coverage as the topic title suggests. Even though it’s pretty tough to find a solution for a problem like this, I believe it’s not impossible. There’s so many people here giving suggestions and trying to help you guys any way they can, but it feels like talking to a reinforced wall…
I’m looking to get a unique, new kind of application approved by ArenaNet.
This wvw application had it’s public release about 1,5 month ago. It makes use of the GW2 api in combination with the mumble link. The result is an application that shows objective information ‘hovering’ over the actual objectives in-game. Some of the users I have let me know they would like some kind of verification about the legality of the overlay, so hereby I would like to ask you, developers at ArenaNet, is it allowed to make this kind of use of the tools you give me? Here’s a link to the application’s website for details: http://www.gw2battlesupport.com

No more annoying overlays that take up window space or require a secondary monitor. Guild Wars 2 Battle Support shows you the World versus World objective information inside your game in a dynamic way: It is built in such a way that objective icons are over the actual objectives in your game world. Don’t believe it? Check out the screens attached to this post! Still don’t believe it? Check out a video of it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQ8SGucxS10

Now that the world/map display in friendlist etc. have been fixed, any chance that this will be also fixed for the mumble link data? I still receive “garbage” values when in WvW like 2147483655 for RoF borderland and 3221225491 for the EoTM instance i’ve been. Can’t you just return the actual home world id for players in WvW and overflows (e.g. 2005 in my case)?
This!!! I tried to use those values for a WvW application a few days ago, but couldn’t because of the garbage values. Would be amazing if we can get the world-id inside WvW too.
Release coming up! More info on the forums: http://www.gw2battlesupport.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=9

Will this get me banned if i use it?
No. There are a lot of websites and overlays that provide the exact same information. This program is just a way of getting the same information neatly integrated into your game.
Is there any way we can get an official response on that. To me it just looks way too much like an ESP hack. But if I definitely won’t be banned for using it then I definitely want to use it because it will quite frankly be very useful.
From our perspective, having an overlay is just a different way of presenting content. We are not currently banning players simply for using overlays, and have no plans to do so.
Thank you Anen! nirvana: I hope this answers your question, if not, let me know!
i find it very usefull, it’s very well done.
i’d like to be able to set custom names for the objectives, using the same names i use to call them.
I’m working on an option that makes it possible to use the original in-game names as well as the cardinals that are currently displayed, but if there are solid reasons to make them user-definable as well I would definitely consider it. If you have any more ideas you can always let me know on the forums: http://www.gw2battlesupport.com/forum/ (no registration needed)
Looking at the feedback I’ve been getting, it looks like there are no serious issues that stand in the way of Guild Wars 2 Battle Support’s release. I have at least one more beta patch which will be pushed in a day or two, after that it depends on the test results whether the beta is over or not. Thanks for the support everyone
Interesting… might be nice if distance was factored in a bit so the further away an objective is the smaller the icon would show. Minor suggestion at best though.
Right now the opacity does that, but I think I’ll add an option for re-sizing as well. Thanks for the idea
So, what’s the advantage of your system over http://wuvoverlay.codeplex.com/ which is the same thing except a whole lot more compact and cleaner?
Meaning no offense, but something with the same capability already exists.
It’s what you prefer yourself, but I don’t think it can be compared. My application is integrated with Guild Wars 2 in such a way that it shows you the information in the right place as you move around.
EDIT: I’ve added some screens to the initial post that should make the functionalities of the application a bit clearer.

Hi everyone!
I’ve created a program that allows you to view WvW objective info ‘inside’ your game. Guild Wars 2 Battle Support is an overlay that shows the objective icons you see on your map inside your world: Look towards N camp and you will see a camp icon with the information of the camp, look towards garri and you will see a keep icon with the information of the keep. This includes the supervisor buff timers.
After programming and testing the application on my current server, I think it’s at a state where it’s far enough to be tested by the rest of the Guild Wars 2 community.
Want to try it out yourself? Download the latest version at http://www.gw2battlesupport.com/download
If you have any questions, comments, ideas, bug reports,… let me know on the forums: http://www.gw2battlesupport.com/forum/. Update notes can be found here as well. I’m looking forward to hearing what you think about this application
(edited by Thuron.5648)
I’ve made a WvW application that allows users to view objective information without having some external window open or using a static overlay. It is integrated in the game: You look towards a certain tower and you’ll see an icon with the borderlands that holds it and timers. The beta just opened up for public so it’s fairly new.
For more info check the API forum post.
Never too late for a good tip, thanks! That will come in handy one day
That!! Thank you!!!
I’ve seen this question asked before, but with no further comments or information on it: Is there any way to get all match_details from every match without having to call match_details.json seperately for every match? I’m implementing timers on all WvW objectives in my application, but doing the requests for all the matches takes about 10-15 seconds for my server. Maybe my approach is wrong, but to me it seems logical to be able to get the info of all matches at once. Thanks in advance.
Hmm yea that sounds about right. As long as they don’t change I should be ok I guess. I’ll give this a try. Thanks for the objectives.json! It definitely comes in handy.
(edited by Thuron.5648)
That objectives.json will definitely come in handy for looking up the id of a certain objective. What I’m still wondering though: the order in objectives.json is by id.
The order in match_details.json is apparently the same as objective_names.json, but it’s still not clear to me if there’s any logic in this order. The order in match_details.json seems to be the same for all the different matches, but is this always the case? Does the order ever change when say a new matchup starts at the end of the week?
The program I’m creating doesn’t allow me to link the objectives with the match_details.json so I have to hardcode it. I managed to do this for 1 borderlands but I just want to be sure this doesn’t change.
I am currently working on a WvW application for which I need to get all objectives and their ids, but to me it seems that the objectives are in some random order which differs per borderlands. Is there any logic behind the order and the ids that belong to the objectives?
I know this is an old thread, but since I’ve got the same question I thought I’d post here. I’m also looking for these icons. I know GW2 uses a grayscale version of the icons and colors them in code. Is there any chance we can get these grayscale versions?
It’s been a while since this topic was added, but I’d like to add my voice to this thread as well. These in-game musical instruments are amazing, and would be even more if the time delay was removed.
A while ago I made a remix out of several songs from Guild Wars 2. I thought I’d share and see what everyone thinks. Let me know!
Since the last update it seems to be impossible to claim locations in WvW. I’ve already checked the guild rank permissions and they should allow us to claim, but it keeps giving the message: “Sorry, your guild has not given you permission to claim locations.”.
Yesterday I did a few 2 team PvP tournaments, thinking that wins would count towards the Monthly Tournament Wins. After playing I checked the progress of the monthly and I saw that even though I am sure my team has won at least 1 time, the Monthly Tournament Wins is still at 0%. Do only the 8-team tournaments count towards the Monthly or is this a bug?
Hi,
Over the past few months I’ve been doing quite some trading on the Black Lion. I came to the conclusion that there’s a huge amount of information about the Trading Post on the web, but not so much in game.
With this guild I want to bring together a select group that knows what’s going on on the trading post. By ‘select’ I actually mean ‘Not too big’, as I want the people in the guild to really bond and feel safe to share information. I strongly encourage working together and sharing knowledge. Of course you choose what you tell people and what you don’t. You are completely free in sharing information and knowledge.
The main goal of this guild: Be the richest and know the Trading Post inside out. This is why I had the idea to make some sort of Guild Investing where everyone can give money to the guild and together search for the best investment for it.
Everyone in [GOLD] accepts the following rules:
1. No Scamming of players
2. No 3rd party gold
If you are interested in joining the Trading Post Merchants, or if you have any questions: mail or pm me ingame: Thuron Thahid.

Has anyone else noticed that the ‘Refresh’ button at the BLTC at ‘Place Order’ is not working? I’ve already filed a bug report about it several months ago but I’m not sure if I’m the only one experiencing this bug.
i see how it could ruin the teamplay and other aspects of the game, but what if it would just show the damage you did yourself and no more?
Wouldn’t it be cool if you could see how much damage you’ve done compared to others with hard enemies like champions/legendary/epic. Or show the percentage of health you’ve removed from it?
After killing a Champion show a window with the damage everyone’s done, would be cool to see who did the most and compete
I just got this message and can’t find information on it. I was using the BLTC when I got this message. Anyone got any idea why I got it?
THIS is exactly what I was looking for! I’ve had several times that, of course by my own mistake, I got ruined materials because of wrong gathering tools, and that’s a pain when gathering orichalcum…
