Okay, I updated the drivers and was able to use the world map. But after running around Lion’s Arch for a bit it crashed again and turned off my computer. It also is taking a while for the computer to turn on again. (Laptop, btw.) It’s not overheating – it’s gotten much hotter after an hour or so of play.
The only thing that pops up before Windows loads is the standard “your computer didn’t shut down properly, do you want to restart using safe mode, etc?” so I’m assuming it isn’t a BIOS thing. Doing an ESET scan just in case, though.
All my drivers are up-to-date, and NVidia is set to application-controlled antialiasing.
The only thing I can think of is that my battery is acting up somehow, even though I’m always plugged in. It doesn’t charge to more than ~15 minutes of full battery life. But that hasn’t changed since the last time I [successfully] played.
Here’s the Game Advisor results attached.

Thanks, I’ll try those.
Edit: I’m updating my video card drivers. The SFC didn’t fix anything, at least.

I’m returning after about a year without logging into the game client. When I try and open the world map, after scrolling around for a bit, my computer shuts off immediately. I am able to restart it after a few minutes and neither Windows or Guild Wars acknowledges the crash.
I’m running Windows 7 Pro 64bit.
Intel Centrino 2
NVidia GForce GTX 260M
I have the graphics settings on low – nothing has changed since the last time I played except the updates.
I’m installing Game Adivisor and I’ll post the results in a few minutes.
