Help needed for Norn Thief Storyline mission.

Currently stuck on the level 19 mission The Championship Fight. Although I am level 26 I cannot even reduce Mikkels hp to 50%. I cannot go toe to toe with him and he is to fast to kite. Any tips appreciated, I have just started playing again to see if game is any better but this one fight does not make any sense to me.

I agree we are great in 1 on 1 and small scale skirmishes but WvWvvW is primarily zerging thus survivability and attrition wins the day. I am hoping WvWvW evolves a bit to incorparate small roaming bands where a rogue will do well but in keep seiges etc a sturdier archtype is much more suited.

Why do others think a Thief is OP when it is nothing more than a lightly armoured warrior.

It hits really hard I agree, or can do with right build but it has one major flaw that makes the archtype pretty much redundent….it can be seen!!!

In WvWvW the class is next to useless against any reasonable player, you see thief, you either kite it or avoid it. In a game where there is no dedicated healer it is far more strategically viable to play a warrior for melee dps. Its dps may not be as high but its survivability and therefore total damage output is better than a thief. A rogue may kill his first opponent but will then have to bug out to recover or die whereas a warrior may not kill the first guy he encounters as quickly as a thief but they can move onto there next target in a lot better state therefore putting more pressure on the enemy. As WvWvW is zerg based it makes the rogue less useful.

Some thief builds have more survivability but they then basically become warrior clones but with a different playstyle, they offer nothing a warrior cannot already do.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the class but if I played to win I would roll a warrior and if I played to really win I would roll a ranged class as we all know melee dps is just ranged classes extra hit points.

3v3 is infinitely better than 2v2. In 2v2 one realm will dominate and the players on the losing side will either quit or transfer to a server which is winning. This ruins pvp.

DAoC does 3v3 and it works without cross realm communication and does it to be honest a lot better than gw2. We need to give the servers time to settle, once the 3 servers in your cluster has an obvious pecking order the other 2 will naturally gang up on them. Only problem I see and its a pretty big one is some servers will have higher populations than others thus being able to WvW more efficiently as it is just a zerg fest. Some servers may have such a big imbalance of numbers that they may equal the other 2 in population. Still to early for me to decide whether WvWvW in gw2 is worth it. At moment it is just zerg fest and very few classes are suited for solo hunting, maybe hunter. I am hoping it will evolve a bit so there are small 1 party teams hunting down each other and avoiding the zerg but i doubt it as GW2 is aimed at a younger audience.
