Yes I don’t really understand why Arena Net would from a design stand point, choose to make a collection item based on RNG. I think a lot of people would be upset if they had to wait say 6 weeks and others maybe 2 weeks if they all clear it in the same amount of time each week.

Commander tag being bound to raid leading

Hello community,

I am a bit concerned about the commander tag being required to do ready checks and place markers inside raids.

I am scared to go spend 300g on a commander tag which I am not even close to interested in besides being able to lead and teach raids properly, just to hear some news in three weeks that its going to be changed.

Has Anet ever stated anything related to this concern? Are there any plans to split ready checks and markers from inside raids so they are not bound to the commander tag itself?

In my opinion the commander tag is for leading squads in WvW and PVE. I think raids should not have a 300g paywall just to being able to call out ready checks.

And before you say “just go farm some gold”, not all players have all the time in the world to farm gold. Some people just want to make their hours inside the game as enjoyable as possible. I love this game, and thats why I am scared to spend so much gold on something that a few weeks later might get changed.

What do you guys think?

i don’t see why you PvE guys should have it any different.

I’ve seen devs encouraging veterans to help newcomers in raids. I still think the tag itself should have its price unchanged. But inside raids, markers and ready checks are really important to get it organized. This would not change the fact that people in open world pve would still have to pay for their tag as it could be abused otherwise.

I am in a position right now where I would love to help friends and everybody else to clear the raid wings. Almost the only thing I do in-game at the moment is raiding, and by raiding with food buffs even when the bosses are already killed puts your gold income to basically zero.

The problem I face right now is that I do not have a commander tag. Since it is pretty much a requirement for raids in terms of markers and ready checks, having to pay 300g for it feels very lame. I don’t have the gold for it, nor will I have in the near future unless I buy gems or get lucky with drops. Why should I have to put everything else in the game aside just to buy an icon for 300gold to do something that is good for everyone?

My suggestion is to give every squad leader the tools to place markers and do ready checks without having to buy the commander tag first. BUT only inside raids. I still think a commander tag is something that not every person should have, and those who do have one should use it properly. But people like me who have basically zero interest in leading groups in open world pve or WvW really suffers from this.

Compensation regarding scribe/decorations?

I completely agree with what you have said. Even if Anet has been telling us that they are looking into the prices of scribing they have made no changes what so ever during the last 5 months. Players should not miss out on tons of gold if they decide to participate in one of the expansions features. Now if Anet decides to lower the cost of scribing materials, some kind of compensation to players who have spent alot of gold needs to be given out. It’s just more than fair.

New legendary weapons to include old gifts?

They haven’t said yet. There is still supposed to be a blog post about the new legendary weapons before launch, but I doubt that will say either.

They want to prevent a huge shift in the economy before launch so they will likely not say what the new weapons/armor needs.

They did however say that they want it to be more of a journey and less of a grind, so at least some of it will be more activity based.

Alright I see, it would be very nice if they did include fortune and mastery but a different weapon gift. Guess we will have to wait then, its frustrating when you’re saving up for something but barely cant see your progress as there are no middle steps to be done.

I am concerned about whether the new legendary weapons will include gifts such as Gift of Fortune or not. I really want to start working on a legendary weapon, putting aside mystic clovers for an example.

But it would be sad if I found a new legendary weapon to look better than what I would like to craft at the moment. Which would result in a lot of wasted resources and gold. Has Arena Net said anything about this?

If not, I would love if a dev would take a minute to respond.

Thanks in advance!
