Hmm wierd if you changed all the kits from your bar.. Yet again, move em from your underwater setup aswell.. Got my achive, really lame you cant get it becouse of this bug… Ive tried some, since the I can still take the karka gun after completing the acheivement, to mess around with this and for me i can dive in the water and still keep it ONLY if i dont have any kit on my bar. Meaning i have any other skill ON MY BAR… And since the patch that includes Mortar kit. And also Med kit, Tool kit, Elixir gun and Flamethrower.

Yea, i was literally pulling my hair becouse of this. But i think i found a solution or maybe the game thought i would look hideous as a bald guy, unequip all kits. Like, Flamethrower/ Elixir Gun etc. From both your standard setup and water and it will keep the gun, atleast did for me.
