Awesome, thank you!
I’m part of a 1000+ member worldwide guild (MARA), and with this we are now completely severed from our EU guildmates. It is hard enough having to split into three separate guilds due to size limits, with no in game communication tools between guild members (alliances, for example) , but now we are forced into a situation where we must choose a between permanent shared region (with the representative constant latency loss), or continuing to remain apart. All along the impression was that guesting would be cross-server capable, and we’ve been patiently waiting to be able to link up with our ‘old world’ friends.
This is terribly disappointing.
This is a great idea, and perhaps something ANet should consider in the future.

Just a few comments:
1. I really like the new island, and the Karka design. Your design team did a top-notch job and it shows!
3. The second event, in particular, really felt like we were retaking the island (the lag, bugs aside). One of the better mob events I’ve been part of, without a doubt.
4. Loot was ok, at least on par with regular enemy drops, but drops had no relation to effort. I had better items from the Drakes and the Skales than after fighting a Karka Champion for 10 min. As well, the final event, 3, I spent 2 hours with 0 reward (I had to leave to make supper before the last part) as each stage of the final boss fight (20-30 min) did not count as a separate event. Drops were very poor, with a high kill rate and subsequently high repair bill.
5. I did not notice a pile of bugs, although the bugs in stage 1 halted me until the hotfix.
6. Lag was unbearable at times, although admittedly Friday and Saturday were the worst. I don’t know if this was due to frustrated players logging off, or a fix implemented but the ANet team Saturday.
7. I feel the final event, stage 3, was too long. A standard story mode dungeon is 1-2 hours. Had I known I needed to budget 3-4 hours for the event, I might have better been able to plan my day. As it is I feel a little cheated from the rewards at the end, despite dumping of my life 2 hours into the fight.
Thank you,
Incredible event; thank you ANet! I’m so glad I could attend. I’ve done the run twice now with my guild mates – It is a great mini dungeon with some spectacular fighting.
I have zero doubt that the puzzle itself is doable; challenging, appropriately, but achievable with practice and effort. The trouble with the event is that it is grouped, and said group conceals, completely randomly, the elements of the puzzle required to succeed. I see many arguments claiming that it is ‘fine’ after the first two stages when 80% of the people have dropped away. So… 80% of the people in the event can’t succeed and the way to success is to wait until their character models are out-of-the-way? This is exactly the principal ‘whining’ point, which more than anything, is the issue.
Please make this a solo or Party instance, like a dungeon. I think you would be startled to see the % of success increase compared to current state.
There is a reward: King of the Costume Brawl achievement.
I just noticed this on the ‘Winged’ leggings; I suspect it is the vertex alignment on the seam for the leggings in particular as it does not line up with the ‘unclothed’ torso either. I’ve not tested the reverse; the coat vs other leggings/unclothed.
It is certainly exacerbated with some of the idle animations as the belly vertices are stretched.
This issue is persisting. I hit 11,000 ms delays while in combat (which is essentially an interesting form of suicide). I am in NA and recently switched to an NA server (I was on an EU server with the majority of my guildmates), and I never saw this level of latency while using the Germany based servers.
I am really not certain if I should or should not raise a ticket on this. None of my other games are experiencing this level of lag, and for the last four weeks I have not had issues at all with GW2.
Apparently I typed to soon – shortly after I posted I tried to get into combat and latency spiked to 6-8000 ms.

Game became completely unplayable about 40 min ago: 30-90 second delay between skill press and action. In Yak’s Bend, in the Brisban Wildlands. I’d not checked the actual latency numbers at the time, although the client closed on me several times with warnings. Just in the last few minutes it settled down to a moderate lag (about 1 sec).
I should add – it currently seems to be hovering around 240 ms latency.
