Aethgar, funny enough i switched builds and went back and now no matter what as you said can not get MR to proc with it
I wonder how long we will wait for a reply. I thought it was 2 straight forward questions, the fact they are either not going to respond or carefully crafting a response does not make our situation seem any more promising.
Ya I do I turn to crystal and it reflects wish we could get a dev response here
Bumping this because I was trying out one of these builds (2/6/0/0/6) in WvW last night.
Cooldown is 10 seconds (splitting hairs here, since 10 isn’t 0, either) and worst of all, the distortion granted by this trait does not interact with Masterful Reflection (Illusions4).
Feels to me that the non-interaction is an oversight since they just fixed the distortion on signet activation this patch.
I do have it working with Masterful Reflection, strange about CD though it seems to be fluctuating .. First night I thought it was 3 seconds … Your saying 10 I have had 20 but regardless we were told no cool down. Let’s hope they answer
So last night and today I tried the new trait Triumphant Distortion , because it was the only thing I was even slightly interested in. I have 2 questions for the developers :
1. At what point did we decide the “no cool down” was going away ?
2. How did you settle on 10 seconds ?
This has taken an otherwise interesting mechanic (a way for a more burst built mesmer to have some survive-ability )into 1 more useless trait. Between this disappointment and the major decrease in burst from shatter (has anyone looked into if this is critting post patch ? Sure doesn’t seem like it to me ) am I to assume that you guys want us to all roll condi mesmers ?
I had assumed that this trait option was to try and ween some people off the current pu condi mesmer meta builds, than you boost perplexity runes and nerf this before it even gets implemented.
General thoughts and observations
Fundamentally I think there is one major problem with mesmer that continues to get overlooked and why the meta builds are being used ( I despise them and wont use it) By your own admission Mesmer is a Class built on deception , than of course there is that little thing called target. Clones/ phantasms / illusions etc don’t deceive anyone without the use of stealth because all they have to do is target the real mesmer once ( usually before the first shot is fired) and without the use of stealth no amount of illusions is going to trick them into anything, they are automatically locked into the right target. The phantasms etc have such a low health pool that they really are not much of a concern. Bottom line is a change needs to be made here be it loss of target when illusion is summoned or another mechanic like I thought you were creating.
Down skills
Why is there a clear marking over the head of a downed mesmer so it is clear which one is the illusion and which one is real ?(once again no deception here to anyone who has played longer than a week) Why do we not have ground targeting for our blink skill while down like thieves do? I have had suggestions brought up from other classes like rather than the blink it summons 3 illusions none marked and people have to figure out which one, but currently what exists is useless and 7 out of 10 times leaves you in the AOE of a spike flag anyhow .
