I don’t know about other servers, but on Tarnished Coast, it’s nearly impossible to get into events like The Shatterer or Claw of Jormag unless you camp out in the zone at least 30 min ahead of time. I’ve been told that it’s due to a large number of people “guesting” on the server and if so, when is this nonsense going to stop? (and yes, I’ve tried joining guildies already there, but that method is sketchy at best; after a certain point, it doesn’t matter how many times you click “Join xxx in xxx.”)
I do love that after the initial investment, there’s no monthly fee. However, if I can’t get into world events, what’s the point? I’d actually rather pay a monthly fee in order to enjoy the game fully.
I very recently (yesterday!) started playing GW2 and have decided it’s time to find a guild. I’ve been playing MMOs a long time, and have spent considerable time in EQ, EQ2, LotRO, among others. One thing that has been consistent for me in all of them, is that being in a good guild is essential to fully enjoying the experience.
I’m looking for a fairly active, mature guild. I like to RP, but I don’t think I can commit to full-time RPing. I enjoy cookies, scenic views, and long walks on virtual beaches (provided there’s something to kill on said beach, or at least a reasonably intriguing mystery to be solved). If any guilds are recruiting and would like to have me, please let me know!
