Thank you for Liadri :) Seriously

Since I started MMOing in 1997, I have found very VERY few PvE encounters that I considered to require any level of “skill”. I was a hardcore raider in college (the free time allowed it), raiding for 4 of my 5 years in WoW and almost all of my 1.5 in Rift (didn’t really raid in the rest of the games I played, since I mostly played them for PvP). 90% of that raiding was as the main tank or one of the main healers in the raid. In all of that time, I can count the number of fights that I felt required true “skill” one 1 hand.

Liadri is in that category.

Because of the Liadri fight, I had to realize the flaws in my playstyle and my reaction speed, as well as create a new build specifically for the fight. Even with all of that, it was still probably one of the most difficult (by way of player skill) encounters I’ve seen in an MMO to date, if not THE most difficult.

It wasn’t about arbitrarily bigger numbers on my armor, or whether the tank knew the rotation of the AOEs or anything like that. It is about timed dodges while keeping up with your environment. It was about MY ability to play, not my ability to rely on someone else to keep me afloat. Any single mistake meant the end of the match And I loved every second of it.

So thank you. The mini I received from that encounter is probably the first virtual item, far above and beyond any “tier #” gear I RNGed into in a raid, that I actually feel accomplished having and showing off.

Definitely hope to see more like this fight in the future.

I see no need for a PTR, if you can release a patch every 2 weeks and fix the bugs within a few hours of the patch I find it much more beneficial then testing out a patch for a few weeks with tons of spoilers.

They should keep it the same, put all the of the patch in a NDA and keep us waiting until the last day to see whats been added, I like the surprise… bugs or not.

Besides all of the serious bugs get kept and exploited anyways

No. No no no no no no no. No. No.

No.

No.

You say this now, but the first time they release a patch that wipes your bank of every item in it, you’ll be the first on here saying “WTF?! WHY DIDN’T YOU TEST THIS CRAP?!”. And if you think that’s not possible, go check WoW. It happened. Twice.

DPS and Meters

Total damage for the entire team? Sure. Total damage for yourself ONLY? Yes. Total damage for other individuals in your group? Oh hell no. It just invites a type of in game bullying that is neither welcome here nor needed here.

I play trinity games regularly, and consistently play a tank or healer. I refuse to play DPS. With that said, if ANYONE in my group wastes my and the group’s time by kittening and whining about someone’s DPS, I boot them. Simple as that. I have the patience of Buddha when it comes to running with other people, but I will judge you by your own standards. If a player thinks that someone’s DPS being 5% lower than their own is slowing down the run so much that it needs to be addressed, then I will address the fact that their kittenty personality is slowing down the run.

tl;dr- my vote is- for yourself, sure. For others? No.

A 30 minute timed refund feature would be nice. Buy something like that from the laurel vendor, find out something that makes you go “wait, I dont want this” and be able to immediately return it. That would fix problems like this.

Engineer kits respect the "hide back" option

This has been suggested so many times, by so many engineers, it is getting to be comical. I’m begging you: if I have my backpiece hidden, it is because I do not like the look of a backpiece with whatever armor set I am wearing. Why, then, would I want a giant and hideous looking backpack on my character whenever I use a kit? ;_;

For the love of all aesthetics everywhere: let us choose whether the backpack for kits is visible or not!

EDIT: Not all players who want to hide the back piece will want to hide the kit. So, perhaps a second, kit specific option would be more appropriate! =D
