Who Are We?
The Phoenix Imperium is a multi-gaming community with a primary interest in sci-fi and fantasy. PHX was founded out of the ashes (so to speak) of a community built up around an in-development sci-fi MMO that has not yet been released. Because we need to pass the time, we play other games including Titanfall, SWTOR, etc.
Location, Location, Location
Currently, our most active members are in Europe, however we have members in North America as well, and are fairly flexible about times
Playstyles
We spend a lot of time playing PvE, but we’re happy to do WvW sessions as well (and sPvP too!). We’ll also do dungeon runs when we can get enough people together to get reliable outcomes
Why Should I Join?
If you’re looking for a lighthearted group that enjoys playing together on a fairly regular basis, then we hope we can provide that. If sci-fi is one of your passions then you’ll definitely be fairly at home with us.
If you’re new to Guild Wars 2, we have members that started fairly recently too or are a bit rusty, so don’t worry if you need a little hand getting up to speed. Likewise, if you’re an old GW veteran that’s interested in joining us, go easy on us!
What Do I Need To Do?
We have few requirements to join:
- You have to be at least 16, but preferably over 18
- You must be able to join TeamSpeak. Voice chat isn’t compulsory, but highly recommended
- You must be able to run Skype.

So That’s It, Nothing Else To Hook People In?
Ultimately, we could promise the world in order to try and lure people in, but we don’t believe in raising false expectation. Our active membership is currently fairly low, but we want to rebuild into the larger size community we once enjoyed. If we reach a larger size of active members, we’ll start having the ability to have nice goodies like clan servers for other games, internal competitions with actual prizes, and all the like. So come pull up a seat and have a chat with us. If we can gather a larger number of members together we’ll be able to shape this into something fun.

We’re ex-Stormbluff as well, as it happens, although at the time we left due to server population being so cripplingly high we struggled to log-in at times.

Who are The Phoenix Imperium?
The Phoenix Imperium are a friendly international community of gamers, spread across several nations and timezones playing many different games. We started off as a group interested in a developing sci-fi MMO (still in development at time of writing) but have branched into multiple games and genres whilst we waited
What sort of community are you?
As a community we have members that like to share their skills, be it writing, coding, drawing, you name it. We try to encourage that atmosphere and it’s one of the things we intend to focus more on as we grow. We do at times also participate in roleplay and we aim to introduce roleplay writing competitions in the future for those interested. But we try not to force our members to participate in things that don’t interest them.
How big are you?
We’re currently a small community but we’re looking to grow in size. However, we do like to maintain a certain community feel, so we have a rather simple recruitment process that involves having a brief chat with one or a couple of our leaders. I wouldn’t like to call it an interview, because that’s not really what it is. We’ve rarely rejected people, but it comes from the hard-learned experience that we do it.
You’re an international community, but you play on US servers?
Yeah, in most cases our European members can connect relatively easily to US servers, particularly East Coast servers, so as a rule when both our European members and American members play a game together it makes sense to aim for servers on the US East Coast.
What game styles to you play?
Being primarily casual, we focus on PvE, but we’ll take part in sPVP and WvWvW should our members wish to do so. WvWvW can be exceptionally fun in sufficiently sized groups, so we’d certainly recommend it, but then we don’t force our community to play in any particular way.
How do I join?
Please visit our website forums at http://phoeniximperium.org/forum and create a new thread in the Recruitment forum (there’s also an instruction thread there). We’ll aim to get back to you as soon as practically possible. Note that while our minimum age is 16, that’s the exception rather than the rule. We prefer our members to be 18 or over, or otherwise demonstrate the ability to cope with mature content. We can be a bit sweary at times and the like, and we try not to censor our members.
Why should I join?
We can’t force you to join us, of course, but if you fancy a relatively laid-back and relaxed community that occasionally does roleplaying, competitions, events, and the like, join in! We welcome people willing to volunteer time and ideas too, so if you’d like to get a bit more hand’s on and involved we’ll do our best to provide the tools to get stuff going.
