Hi,
I wasnt entirely sure if this is the correct subforum for this topic, but anywhere here goes.
Since the launch of Heart of Thorns and its squad changes, I experience some horrible performance issues.
So what exactly do I mean by that. When i join a squad my game is fine as long as the number of people doesnt become greater than 20. As soon as the number rises above that my game starts to become alot less enjoyable.
The game starts to feel like im playing with bubblegum, dropping fps every few seconds. And no thats not due to the number of people next to me, as long as im not a member of a squad, i’m totally fine.
(if I relog and get to the same map via group taxi instead of squad taxi, its fine even if alot of people are next to me.)
Also this has a really wierd side effect, I cant get rid of it by just leaving the squad but also having to relog/restart the game.
So why do I come here now and not during the release of heart of thorns.
Basically because of the lfg changes, since now maps can be filled with people via squads, I have to join those massive squads to participate in stuff like Dragons Stand etc or anything else that gets organised.
It does also appear like this has a “higher” chance of happening on specific maps, its worse on maps like Silverwastes and Drytop. Verdant Brink seems to be fine, but Dragons Stand on the other hand is horrible again.
It does seem like im not the only one with this particular problem, a few people in my vicinity (friendlist, guild) had/have the same issues I have.
I am running Guild Wars 2 on low setting and on a “low end” laptop.
So I am not suprised to have hit a wall at some point how far I can play without trouble.
My Laptop:
Asus X77JQ
Intel Core i7 720q 1,60ghz
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730
4gb ram
Windows 7
I apologize if this issue actually has a solution already (other than upgrading my rig), but its making my days lately a little less enjoyable.
