Balthazar's REAL Motivation

Guys I figured out Balthazar’s motivation.

In the trailer, Rytlock says he has some big secret to tell us.

Isn’t it a little peculiar that Rytlock is the ONLY revenant that doesn’t have glowing arms?

I’m pretty sure he got his glowing arms in the mists, looked down as the color swirled around his well decorated armor, and grimaced at how it clashed so bad.

He could have come back from the mists much sooner. But no, he had to get rid of this glow, lest others question his fashion senses.

So while walking around the mists, he ran into Balthazar and figured out a way to plant his glow onto him.

Rytlock escapes the mists, beautiful armor and all. This is also why he never told us anything before, because he was too embarrassed.

And Balthazar is made fun of by the other gods, because of his ridiculous glowing arms.

So Balthazar has to go on a whole campaign to gather enough energy to get rid of these ugly glowing arms once and for all. Only the power of a few elder dragons seem to be able to accomplish this impossible task and he’s going to go back to the mists and take out the other gods for making fun of him.

So basically that’s what Path of Fire is about.

Cheers~!

I also posted this on the Mirror thread.

I felt like giving us mirrors and giving us a dodge that let’s us stand still, was very counter intuitive. The dodge is great if you’re using a play style where you try your best to blend in with your clones. But if you’re using that play style, the mirrors are pretty much useless because they’re always so far away from you.

So here’s an idea on how to improve mirrors:

Let the mirrors be able to be shattered by allies (including your own clones etc.)

However, since some people aren’t playing the ‘stand still and blend in’ style, they may like to be in control of shattering the mirrors themselves, instead of an ally touching it.

So what if, instead of changing it completely, just put this ability as a trait. This way, players can decide how they want to use their mirrors. My suggestion is to replace the Major Adept trait, Renewing Oasis, with a trait that allows allies to be able to shatter mirrors.

Playing with player allies is more obvious on how this would work. Leave a mirror, player ally shatters it to help your own damage. It creates a nice team oriented ability and would probably be a lot of fun to play.

As for playing alone, while trickier to use, I still think it could be a lot of fun figuring out the best ways to get your clone to the mirror. One example is to use a skill that creates a clone on top of you, and then use the Sand Through Glass skill, which should instantly shatter your mirror. Because currently, it doesn’t make much sense for you to create something you’re supposed to touch, and then jumping away from it.

Instead, I think it would be more rewarding to have the option to create team play and skillful play within your own clone system.

New Party Icon Colors

Has anyone’s mini map also started showing party members as a yellow dot instead of a blue dot? I know color difference isn’t that big of a deal, I just prefer blue as easier to see.

BUT what’s bothering me is that the yellow dot is only visible if the party member is in the same area as I am on the mini map, meaning I can’t go find them by just heading in the direction their dot is in on the side of the mini map.

Is this a new thing or is there a way to fix it that I’m not doing?

Anyone else find the Lotus Training dodge extremely awkward? To me the animation is so horrible. Why did they have to change it from the Death Blossom animation?

I love this map and think it’s quite fun. One bug I noticed was that when I was at my home lord gate, the opposing teams hero ran up to the lords gate and then just vanished into thin air. Great for our team, but probably sucked for the other team. XD
