I mean, most of my support comes through auras and their healing anyway. I only really overload water in ‘oh kitten’ moments and it’s always a gamble whether I get it off or not and depending on where my teammate is I may almost die in the process (and then there’s those that like to run away from me and my healing). It’s true though, I sometimes forget I’m supposed to support more than do damage :p though killing the enemies faster also helps take pressure off the team.

Well, it’s no secret that when winning outnumbered fights your enemies generally aren’t the best. If they were actually good there should be no reason to win outnumbered (if outnumbered by more than 2 or so). Though even if focused, I usually survive surprisingly well (unless it’s multiple thieves) or long enough for our dps to free dps and it ends up with them dying anyway.
The main thing that really gets me is condi damage and more specifically condi reapers with their transfers and chill.
It’s a bigger problem in GvGs which this build just isn’t the best for tbqh.

How is it hard to keep people downed with hammer? I finish people with hammer because it’s easier. If anything it creates more downs. The only hammer skill that has a ranged limiter is CoR and even that hits hard in melee range.

I never said it was hard to keep people down with a hammer. Those two things weren’t related. It’s a good weapon and does a lot of damage but I personally don’t like playing it. Nothing more.

Haven’t played condi rev in forever but I really enjoyed the video. I think the build makes a lot of sense considering the comp is so necro/epi focused.

Glad you did and yeah, basically. It adds a bunch of different condi that we don’t have in our team otherwise, plus the resistance really helps in fighting larger groups.

Considering our main problem is keeping down the downed people I’d say that’s a rather good thing. Though, the build does do its fair amount of damage and the numbers add up.
Aside from that, I personally don’t enjoying hanging in the back and just spamming my skills at range. But I guess it depends on what you define as being fun. I enjoy a more dynamic and mobile playstyle compared to the slow and static feel of hammer. But maybe you just enjoy seeing the big numbers from hammer rev.

@VciouSidewinder It depends on what exactly you mean by outnumbered vs. zerg, or rather numbers and odds you’re thinking, how big your own group is and what other classes/builds you’re running. I’ve only ever done small scale roaming so can’t say in the case of smaller zerg vs large zerg.

I’d say it works well as long as the enemy doesn’t have a lot of resistance and aoe condi cleanses. Otherwise you’re going to have a hard time unless the rest of your team can make up for it in power damage.

I personally like having high toughness and some healing power (though too much of it can be overkill). It helps and the build isn’t made to be the main damage dealer (at least not in our team).
The damage output is rather bursty (if you can get it off). With fire it’s largely dependend on your enemy standing still (or being stunned/immobilised etc) to get off a full rotation since especially fire 2 is very slow and fire 5 is easy to step out of. So you won’t always be able to push out max damage and are often left trying to kill someone with your fire auto especially high mobility classes (which if they’re not entirely dumb or are being pressure by someone else is just not enough to kill them. Maybe if they’re really squishy and have no condi cleanse whatsoever.).
But it probably here too depends on the rest of your team comp and and size vs size of the enemy zerg.

So what the build excels at is pretty much having a lot of aoe condi pressure and sustained healing/protection/aura’s to allies as opposed to the burst healing you can get from druid for example.

Plus one of the biggest problem in most outnumbered fights is actually keeping downed people down and finishing them. The build is pretty decent at that.

We seem to always have the best fights whenever I am not playing my Necro, the class I have actually played the most and play the best, so here’s a video of me playing Tempest for the first time (never even played it in PvE so bear with me) together with two of my guildies.

It’s the first video I made just for fun (I enjoy editing) after only playing WvW for a few weeks. I main necro but I threw in some fights of me trying out my druid for the first time to have some variety. The fights aren’t anything special and I still have a lot to improve but I hope some will enjoy it nonetheless.
