Guild Wars 2

Level 12 ranger.

So I run around, mash my keys, currently using broadword, and mostly find battles and events confusing, especially when other people are around. When I get wtfpwned I have no idea what happened and how to avoid it.

What should I do to figure out the combat system?

Ok I figured it out :-P

I have unlocked troll urgent, but when I press the arrow over the active spell in the hero panel, troll urgent is blacked out, and when I hover above it it has a blue triangle with a red cross on top.

What do I need to do to change healing ability?

Found a 3rd party application that elegantly does everything I wanted: Immersive combat mode. It has a reddit thread, and a web site.

Hides dialog too so not very good for doing anything but looking around in, but still very useful.

Hi all, just got the game a few days ago and I’m blown away, got to level 3 and have spent my few hours in it mostly just running around with my mouth open.

Two things I’d like to toss out there:
If any game ever needed a GUI toggle, this would be it. I’d like a button to toggle the entire UI on/off. I would also like to be able to toggle individual GUI elements, particularly the minimap, on and off. This would make it easier to grasp the magnificent artwork and get more into the surroundings.

I don’t want to look at the map. I want to look at terrain and learn to know it.

Mouselook toggle. Constantly holding down the right mouse button is not good for my dormant RSI, and with the importance of mobility and limited number of buttons in this game, plus F interacts, being able to keytoggle into locked mouselook with buttonstrafing would be really really great.

Though this could give those using it an advantage and affect balance.
