..and it is amazing. I haven’t felt this nostalgic in a long while. The entire zone is well designed, and it’s like an HD version of some of the fantastic oldschool winter maps from Mario 64 or other older games. The overall aesthetics and art direction of this map are some of the prettiest I’ve seen in an MMO (and even most other games). Good job Anet!

That said, I felt the puzzle was a bit challenging, but could perhaps be even more difficult. I’ll admit that could be the oldschool Mario/nintendo gamer in me speaking, but I think difficulty can add a lot to events like this. I’d like to see this zone fleshed out and used as a questing area or something as well. Thanks for the nostalgia trip!

I agree with the OP and everyone saying this is AWESOME and I hope we get more challenging and hard puzzles like this. Please don’t take the complainers to heart. There is a subset of gamers these days that won’t play anything unless they can stand there and spam one button to win. They are probably the loud minority and should not dictate game design as much as they do in most games. Not all things have to be too easy. I hope Anet doesn’t avoid adding tough puzzles in the future. That said, the puzzle would be a lot more enjoyable if the start of the puzzle wasn’t so crowded.
