Well, just the red target rings, then, because they look very out of place with the HUD off, and targeting is so intuitive that it’s not necessary. Honestly, it’s like playing a different game with teh HUD off.. love it.
Now i’m not sure how many people do this, but I try to play with the HUD off as much as possible because it really brings this game to life – it is so beautiful I don’t like to be distracted by the HUD and as a roleplayer like the immersion of toggling it off.
A couple of suggestions for having the HUD off:
1.Also turn off/make togglable red targetting rings and mouse-over highlighting.
2. encourage people to play with their HUD off with mini/scalable/movable togglable healthbar and minimap, so you could have the whole HUD off but still be able to see if you’re about to die.
Playing with he HUD off not only shows off everything this beautiful game has to offer, but also encourages people to play more skillfully, without looking at skills constantly, and helps people learn timings, etc.
It’s really fun, try it!
Definitely agree – one thing that surprised me in GW2 was the over the top spell effects… as mentioned, you can’t really see what’s going on on what the target is. Totally detracts from realism and is probably more at home in a childish Korean MMO. Simplicity is key and I would greatly appreciate the ability to change/toggle the silly spell effects….
Support this 100%. Can’t understand why we don’t have it – please add it.
