NVidia vs AMD cards actually vary game to game based on what’s best supported. GW1 was actually best with an AMD card. Never usually had problems with it but I’ve heard in the past of NVidia users having had the problems. So it would be surprising if that’s the case here. Just on the off chance I did take the advice of using the Drivesweeper. I uninstalled my existing drivers, ran the drivesweeper program, also uninstalled the game once more and did a fresh reinstall of both and I’m still getting the same crash issues. I’d open up a support ticket but I never hear back from ANet. I was hoping by putting something here it would create some sort of visibility. I’m probably going to have to try the support ticket route though again.
AMD cards maybe? He’s running an R9 280X. I’ve been running AMD cards and ATI processors for 16 years on my computers. This computer here that I have is only a few months old. New build.
I’ve been fortunate that I often don’t have to use something like drivesweeper. I’ve been working on computers for so long now that I know the locations for removing drivers, removing software from particular hidden directories, registry keys, etc. It was all uninstalled.
As far as the repair thing, I did try that as well. It’s just funky that it only starts happening in the 2 festival locations and once it happens from that, it affects the rest of the game. I’m actually not exclusive in this. One of my guild mates has this issue too. The game has been stable for me until the Festival.
I’m skipping the world state which is a ton of hex code

Also keep in mind Zaxares, this is happening on 2 video cards, my old one and my brand new one. It only starts to occur once I’ve gone into the Festival areas.
I definitely did a full uninstall of the old driver software and a reinstall of the new software. Needed to. Different Catalyst Control Centers. As far as heat goes, my processor is liquid cooled, my old video card was liquid cooled and the new one has the Vapor X technology on it and doesn’t get that hot under load. I have a Thermaltake Level 10 GT case with plenty of fans to it as well circulating air through. Trust me when I say, it’s not the computer, it’s the game.
No matter what I do, what tweaks I make to the game graphics or otherwise, the game crashes anytime I go into these places. Once it does it, it affects the rest of the game, though not quite as often. It’s a persistent issue. I’ve reinstalled the game several times and just upgraded my video card from a Radeon 4870 to an R9 290 Vapor X and still seeing the same problem. A few moments ago, I crashed only seconds after being in, other times I can hang around for 10-20 minutes. It’s frustrating and i can’t seem to do much in the Festival areas. Over the last several days, I know many crash reports have been sent in via my account. Is there any work being done to resolve this issue?
