I am as psyched about this war on bots, and the economic implications, as any new content. Great work Anet!
All but Sword/Torch.
Are you saying that this combination doesn’t work?
He’s probably saying that the torch hardly does anything to complement the sword; for instance that sword 1 >= torch 5. Torch can complement an inferior damage weapon than sword with its burst, though. Best thing with sword for most purposes? Focus focus focus.
Just wanted to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for this widespread belief that crafting loses you money.
Whatever.
If there is price manipulation (monopolism) going on, then the same thing will happen everywhere there is a strong stock market: the zone will get flooded with too much cash for the monopolist to control; i.e., people will farm the CoE seriously and the downward pressure on the item’s price will intensify.
If GMs actually manage to locate and “trustbust” (close offending accounts) then the process speeds up.
Looks like another match between SBI and… whatever server is the bandwagon this week.
GL HF!
OK. The goggles, as noted above, are tier 1 human light armor. Asurans get ideal engie headgear in light armor as well (sigh). There are a couple of different “mono-goggles,” it seems. Right about the noble headgear, thanks.
A hundred blades sing

I agree with OP on pretty much every point he made; for emphasis, things on the fix list seem to be undoing the shortbow changes, taking some channeling time away from pet attacks, and increasing the health of spirits. (I bet Anet is terrified of spirits on general principle from GW1— because some could slam the whole battlefield cheaply with overwhelming mechanics— one dev was quoted saying, “the problem is that if we buff spirits, people will use them!”) But GW2 spirits should not be eliciting those fears. They could be good without being a black ship.
I also agree that rangers simply should not be able to compete with hundred blades, at least not at range. They should at least be able to lay down as much as a rifleman, though… again, undo the shortbow nerf.
Rangers have great kiting but lackluster swiftness; something nice on 789 would probably give the class more appeal without it being a major balance issue.
Speaking of that, is there a way to obtain the goggles/monicle/backpack outside of character creation?
…I might have done something stupid with mine
seconding this question
Gone back to my warrior main. Also rolled a couple new characters to widen my crafting. I took the nerf particularly hard because I was right in the middle of gearing the ranger full exotic. The warrior is just all-around solid, and everyone knows it, so I’m glad I could fall back on it.
