Guild Wars 2

Hello, I’ve been playing GW since that first preview week for the original game all those years ago and it’s been my favorite mmo ever since. It’s always been the anti-mmo with all the things I hate removed. At any rate I was a little late at getting started on GW2 due to lack of funds but some friends of mine jumped on board from day one. They compelled me to join this server but we never did get together so I played on my own much as I had in the original as one of those anti-cape rebels.

I joined various guilds in those early days but all of them invariably ceased all activity within a few weeks without a word. Some two or three months after the game went live, I like many others, began to view the server as a ghost town. You couldn’t find someone to help you get a skill point any more than you could find a casual guild.

I got my first character to 80 and despite getting bored with the warrior continued with my first storyline wanting to see it through. Still, the game was always better during my interludes with shortlived guilds. Eventually I took some weeks off, months perhaps. I was actually brought back to the game when some jerk tried to hijack my account and receiving the unauthorized log-in email, I realized I still cared.

Now though, the server seems worse. You might find people in the major cities but when I inquire about guilds I am met with silence and the occasional mocking.

In short, I am looking for a mostly casual guild that participates in pve and pvp but without requiring players to be the equivalent of professional athletes. I want to be able to log in and have people to quest with without a set schedule. I’m also very friendly to the RP concept though I’ve never had a proper opportunity as an intermittent casual player. Any community of players that is active without placing many restrictions or requirements on me will do. I’ve considered ditching this server since the game was barely two months old but I’d rather not blow the money on uncertainty.
