It’s clearly based off of it. Hence Humans.
I have searched and I saw people making good arguments for mounts. I’m a little new here, I’m just giving my point of view. I get that they’re unneeded, but what harm can they do?
“Oh, quit trying to make Guild Wars into an MMO clone”? I’m sorry, I was unaware that in medieval times everyone just walked everywhere. What are horses?
I get that one of the things that makes Guild Wars 2 unique is how you don’t need mounts in theory, because you have waypoints, but I have a couple scenarios where having a mount would be very helpful.
1. Storyline: If your personal story takes you to a place far away that you’ve never been to, it’s going to take quite a while to run there on foot because you don’t have any waypoints there. This is where a mount would come in handy.
2. Farming: Leveling is decently fast-paced, so you move on to higher level areas faster than you can level your professions. So if you need to farm materials for these things, you can’t just waypoint to a node. Mounts would also come in handy in this situation.
Now, I’m not talking about flying mounts, because the world might not be ready for that, and from no mounts to flying mounts is a huge step. I’m just suggesting maybe ground mounts that you can purchase with silver and gold.
Maybe have fast mounts for low levels, that costs a certain amount of silver, and faster mounts for higher levels, that costs a certain amount of gold.
You can always tie unique mounts to achievements, or vendors for certain amounts of karma, or even diamonds, so people can buy special mounts. I don’t see how adding mounts would conflict with anything in this game.
Just an idea.
Thanks :D
The one that includes Windy Station and Stormy Station. I’m a little new to Guild Wars 2, first time on the forum, so my apologies if I make any mistakes. This jumping puzzle that me and a friend have been working on is very fun for the most part, but there is a very bad glitch. Whenever you miss certain jumps, (from my experiences, when you get pushed to the left on the first rope challenge at Windy Station, and the first rock challenge at Stormy Station, the last jump towards the far away edge) you die. Usually, when you “die” in this jumping puzzle, it teleports you back to the beginning. But in these glitches, you actually die, whether on a random ledge, or a tiny branch, and you have to go to the nearest way point. As you can probably guess, this is EXTREMELY frustrating because you have to run all the way back.
Hope this gets fixed, thanks :)
