I disagree. I think they’re well balanced. There are more important things than ‘rewards’. It’s common – and I’m not saying you two above fall into this category – that the MMO player that only does anything in-game for the reward is sorely disappointed with GW2. Personally I think that’s a good thing, as it’s clear Anet is trying something different.
Yes, we aggre on that players should not play only for the rewards. All I was saying was that I find it unbelievable that you go to an event, complete it, and it’s possible for you to leave the event with LESS money than you went there with in the first place (even counting in the rewards you get)! So why should people care about these events if:
- they are long and difficult,
- yet there is barely any reward,
- defeating these world bosses barely has any influence on the world (if at all),
- you can even walk away with less than what you had when you started the event,
- and to top the cake, there is like a 4 hours “cooldown” on these events that give you basicly nothing.
I, for myself can actually look over 3 out of those 4 points. But man. If I help defeat a dragon lieutenant, at least pay my bus ticket…
Hi,
I’m sure it’s been suggested before, but here we go. I’d like to suggest to increase the money reward from dragon events. Not much, but if it would give a few silver more, that would be nice, here is why.
Usually it happens like this: I am minding my own business, somewhere at the end of the world, and then a guy on guild chat says something like “ermagerd, coj is up”. Okay, so then I port there, it costs me like 2-4 silvers. Fight the dragon, takes around 10-20 minutes, and after I recieve a bunch of blues and greens I port back to mind my own business again.
And meanwhile I am loosing money, because it’s a common situation when it costs me like 8 silvers to port there and back, yet the event yields 1 silver and the loot worth around… what… another 2-4?
“But awmygawd, if you get a rare that gives you 1-3 globs, you get waaay more money back than you spent on porting” – should we all point out the obvious, but I don’t care. I think going for an event should always be rewarding, and players should not be left to feel like “pftch, I wasted my time AND my money!” or “man, I could even get out of this event negatively affected?!” never ever!
Yes, there are way more important matters that require the attention of the devs.
Yes, I know that it’s about only a fistful of silvers.
Yet I think what matters is the overall feeling and the attitude of it all: “oh, well, you could come down here, do an event, wich might will be profitable for you. Or not. You’ll find out after 20 minutes”.
“It’s not about the lewt, its about the experience!” Yeah, for the first few times, sure, but after one did the event several times, it’s hard to find it really intriguing. After like the 10th time, you are there for the rewards. Period.
I don’t know if I’m speaking only for myself now, when I say that I’m now at the point of not giving a kitten about any dragon and/or world boss events, because as I said, 90% of the time I walk away disappointed.
tl;dr: Please give at least that much money reward, that compensates for the teleporting expenses and for the time spent on the event!
So… it’s been 21 days and… well… I just want to point out, that ANY answer regarding this thread would’ve been nice.
If you guys’d say that “no, it’s not gonna be done, stop asking for it, gash!”, even that would be fine… I just…
Just…
Never mind…
Oh our topic magicaly changed title, well at least they saw it….they must be busy answering questions like: How do I sell my things? And other VERY VERY important questions.
Well I only hope that this means they’ve at least read the opening post.
I agree. We loved the log time. I would love the message of the day to be loaded in chat like in guild wars 1. I would really LOVE MY GUILD CAPE AND ALLIANCE BACK!!!!! now our old alliance is all over cant really game with them as much like you said. i hate being in multiple guilds. i would rather be in the alliance
bring it back!
Actually I don’t have much of an idea about how GW1 handled these things. I just want this game to finally work as intended…. since I bought it. :\ So many things still missing, but this guid system is actually rotting the very core of every community based game: the community itself. Seriously, the fact that these issues still stand, it’s like… if I bought a car without wheels, only whit the promise that later on I will get those wheels eventually. Problem is, that if Anet can not, or does not want to fix these problems REALLY soon, then it – in my humble oppinion – endangers the mere existence of the player base, wich they’d like to build upon future expansion packs. Please, ArenaNet, get on with this… I don’t want to just stand and watch this game die because of this.
Oh, god, please make these changes! It would make the gaming so much more enjoyable. I won’t say things like “oh, these are easy to do” and such — I don’t know how complicated it is to make changes like this. I just REALLY hope, ArenaNet will make this happen.
And yeah, I accept the fact that last represented time would be better.
bring it back!
