DISABLE HYPERTHREADING!!!!!

I was having this same exact issue: FPS drop and ping spike.

Go into your Bios, and disable Hyperthreading, it’s a CPU option.
The Hyperthreading enable/disable option is different for all motherboards. I have an MSI Z97 motherboard, and it was under Overlocking.
GW2 uses DirectX 9, and DX9 does not work with hyperthreading.

Programs must be programmed to work with Intel’s Hyperthreading for it to work effectively. Direct X 9 is old and was made before Hyperthreading was mainstream. So GW2 which runs on DX9 so does not. I guarantee disabling Hyperthreading will fix your problem.

Adding on to this some more. I am also all of sudden suffering massive FPS drop after downloading a patch a couple of days ago.

The night before I was playing the game on Max Graphics settings at 60+ FPS, on medium settings I was getting 140 FPS. NOW… I get at MOST 20 FPS no matter what settings the graphics are on. AND… my ping is up around the 100ms area when it was only at 30-50ms before.

This all started after a patch from a couple of days ago.

Why would my FPS be dropping dramatically if my network latency increases slightly? (ping)

Qoetl is selling “Ring of the Sun-God” and “Sun God Totem”. Both of these items are accessories, they both cost the same amount of karma to buy, they both have the same level requirement and they both have the same exact stats. For both items their is a Fine version and a Masterwork version.

I believe “Ring of the Sun-God” is suppose to be a ring and not an accessory.
